David Copperfield often claims to have multiple methods for his various magic effects. His reasoning is that he does this so he can switch up the method if the audience gets savvy of any certain effect. I also know that Joshua Jay performs various versions of the haunted deck depending on the circumstance. Justin Flom does the same for linking mints.
I have been practicing a few pen through bill effects and have come across a few effects that look virtually identical myself. One being the classic pen through bill with a sticky note and Jay Sankey's effect Dough.
