PROPAGANDA - Playing Cards by theory11

Playing cards uniquely engineered to military precision, with original, iconic style and unsurpassed quality.

On this day last December, theory11 called an executive meeting with WA007 - one of the premiere graphic design firms in the nation. The result of the meeting was over 12 months of compositions encompassing two distinctive, commanding new designs.

The first was the Bicycle Centurions, released in March of 2008. Today, eight months later, we prepare to unveil the other. theory11 in association with WA007 now proudly presents :: PROPAGANDA.

A welcomed departure from the theory11 signature black playing card style, PROPAGANDA is a refreshing, original, industrial spin on modern playing card design. Innovative, unique, and intricate.

Featuring an all new back design, tuck case, Joker, and Ace of Spades, PROPAGANDA is grunge with an edge of 20th century military imagery. The tuck case is mildly distressed, slightly faded, and dark.

Printed on an ALL NEW, uniquely modified Tally-Ho card stock featuring a best in class feel and finish, calibrated to military precision.

I bought these cards on Monday (along with the Centurions deck). They came today, much earlier than expected. The plus to this is I learned my first flourish and am now in love with it. Thanks theory11 for opening me up to this awesome hobby.

These are great - they have that great Tally-Ho feel, and cool graphics. The Ace of Spades and Jokers are cool. The decks also come with a double-back card - a nice extra touch. I wouldn't mind seeing more Tally-Ho based decks. I bought a brick of these after trying one deck. Good job!

These cards are the greatest cards you can buy. I've had everything from the Split Spades to the Aladdin Smooths and these top them all. But you'll have to see for yourself.

These are, hands down, the best in premium cards. Guardians and Centurions are nice, but they are basically souped up Rider Backs that seem to last a little longer. On the other hand, Propaganda's feel thicker, smoother, and stronger than any Bike I've handled before. The Tally-Ho influence is noticeable and appreciated. I hope that this marks a new direction for T11 and that we can look forward to more Tally-based decks in the future.

I also like the fact that these are one of the few "magic" cards out there that don't raise eyebrows as quickly as most the others. We all like the black and slick looks, but they seem fishy to most laypeople. Propaganda's have a nice warmth to them and most spectators wouldn't assume that they were bought from a magic store.

If I had to sum up this deck in one word it would have to be OUTSTANDING. The artwork is incredible, both on the backs, box and Ace of Spades. They handle perfectly for tricks and flourishes alike.

Because I have many family members in the armed forces, I can relate to this deck both personally as a magician and a supporter of the armed forces. The only thing that would make them better is if they had black borders instead of white. I noticed that the design resembles the 1940s warfare style with the B-52's, hedgehog in the center, WWII style gas mask and pineapple grenades. If they made a contemporary design, say with digital camo and modern day designs, that would be epic. Overall 5 stars!

Been a card man for many years, faded and jaded. But - saw this great new deck from T11 and had to get them! Just bought 5 decks from Magic Apple in Studio City and love the way they feel and handle. "Propaganda" - what a great name and design! Reminds me of WWII and the colors are wonderful! Nice stock, fans well, faros great. Nice and slick. You did it again T11. Big fat props to you for PROPAGANDA!

Excellent Quality. Best for fanning and tricks.

Although the design is not as cool as the GUARDIANS (in my opinion), the quality is much better. Thanks T11 for making this deck happen. Five stars for this awesome deck.

Ok, I LOVE these cards. They are amazing! The stock is great - no extra waxy finish - and the cards have killer designs. I highly recommend these for every cardist with a collection, or even just to perform with.

At first, I didn't really know what to think. I loved the design but to me it was "just another deck of cards".

I gave in and ordered a few, I'm very happy I did so. These cards are incredible; the stock is thin and flexable, the design is incredible and very well done. I have many decks of cards and I carry this particular deck around with me anywhere I go.

Theory11 once again delivers high quality cards at a very reasonable price, don't miss out on these!

The Box: The box looks beatiful it's all black and white (almost gray). it's not written Bicycle which is cool. nothing amazing or special it's just good. 8/10

The Cards: Back Design: I love the back even if i hate war these looks fine every detail is great and once again (like the gardians) these are one way deck.

The borders are white and the center is more gray and it's looks very nice. 8.5/10

Front Design: like the guardiens and cents. for those who don't know:
The King, Queens and Jacks look amazing. Deep Blue, Dark Red and Silver replacing the yellow. They stand out very quickly as different. The reds on these cards are a shade or two darker. i like it. 7/10 (only 7 because it's not sooo original anymore)

The Ace: The Ace is nice, the black is a bit faded but it's ok looks nice. it my favorite from T11 so far. 8/10

The Jokers: the jokers looks great . there is not much to say about.. i love grenades.. ha and they are not faded like the aces PROPS on that
8/10

Card Stock: I LOVE IT the best deck so far from T11 they are not all waxy. 8/10

The Finish: The Air Cushion finish on these is great . they feel like tallys to me but a bit thinner (soory for the bad english)

9/10

The Edges: nothing to complain about they feel nice. 7/10

Handling: These cards handle very nicely. they fan perfect and i could flourish right out of the box. 9/10

Overall: My favorite deck from theory11. they feel light and there is nothing that disapointed me. it comes with a double backer like almost every custom deck these days soooooooo yeah that's it. get them

8.7 / 10

The second I saw the back design in the preview I was hooked. I just received my first (of what I can see becoming many) two decks.

I love these cards. They are thinner than I expected. They remind me of the Tally Ho Split Spades. Anyway the finish is wonderful. They fan and farro beautifully. And when it comes to the Back/Ace/Joker/Box design I couldn't ask for more. It's like something from Pink Floyd's The Wall.

Best Deck from T11 so far! Cheers!

This morning I received a ring at the door. Outside was a UPS delivery man with a box with my name on it. EXCITED! I never get mail. Except today! I rushed inside and opened 'er up. Inside was my order of Split Spades and Propaganda from Friday night.

I have been playing with the Props non-stop all day, and here is my review.

:: THE FEEL : These feel a little bit thinner than normal Tally's - and that's a great thing. They fan PERFECTLY and a single deck has lasted all day with heavy use by my dirty little hands. They have a good, crisp snap to them, which helps with flourishing and manipulation. Not too thin, but definitely thinner than the normal theory11 playing card feel (Centurions / Guardians). The finish is slick, but not too slippery. I was able to fan them and handle them perfectly right out of the box, without breaking them in at all. They fan evenly and very smoothly, and they faro easily.

:: THE LOOK : SO frickin' badass! The Joker is my personal fav, but the back design just screams hardcore. Very industrial, and when I showed my friend the first thing he said was "holy smokes! what are those?!" Like they say on the product details page, it's not a dark, mysterious deck like the Guardians and Centurions, but the look is still really industrial and has a relally different style to it.

The back design is a canvasy color, kind of like a mild beige. The Ace is really intricate and matches the aesthetic of the deck. The court cards are much like the Centurions / Guardians except with a little darker shade of red. They don't have any yellow on them, which is a GOOD thing.

THE BOX : It's hard to tellin the pictures, but the box is slightly distressed (grunged up) and is without a doubt my favorite part of the whole deck.

All in all:

THE FEEL : 9.5 / 10 (perfection is impossible)
THE LOOK / STYLE : 9 / 10
THE BOX : 11 / 10

OVERALL : 5 Stars / 5

Highly highly recommended. GO GET 'EM!
