Takes a while to get it down but when you do, you will realize that it's worth the work!
Gabe • United States • 05/15/13
This is a wonderful trick. I love the way he teaches it, but it takes a lot of practice.
Benjy • Australia • 04/25/13
Magic has never been this amazing.
BEST COIN TRICK EVER. Yet, it's not gimmicked and is impromptu.
Don't think twice, even the knowledge behind the trick is worth the price. The teaching of the trick is done superbly well and exceeds any other coin trick out there.
David • Aliff • 04/16/13
This is probably one of the best tricks on theory11 that I've seen. Everyone I showed this to went crazy! The concept itself is amazing! I mean come on, who wouldn't want to see a coin turn into a strawberry?
I would've given this a 5/5 if the move wasn't so hard to master. Ben Seidman makes it look so easy, yet when I tried it out, it was very hard. I still can't master the move, but still a very good trick. A must by for intermediate magicians!
Burak S. • Turkey • 04/09/13
This is one of the best tricks that uses money. It's an awesome vanish and change. This was one of my first tricks and it's not only for coins! Best impromptu trick!
Matthew Lambrick • South Africa • 04/06/13
Alchemy is a great effect. I watched it many times before I bought it and could not work out how it was done. When I bought the trick I felt stupid that I didnt work it out. I love the effect, great method ,just gonna take few days of practice to perfect. Thanks very much Ben for Alchemy!
Daniel Lenton • United Kingdom • 04/05/13
Loving the idea. The teaching is great, entertaining and clear, and the method is ingenious. However, i do feel that it can go wrong very easily, even after a large amount of practice, and there are some clothing restrictions. Other than that, I would absolutely recommend this trick for such a low price!
David Boyce • Florida • 04/03/13
When I watched the trailer I thought there must be some gimmick involved. Although I mainly focus on cards I am really happy I bought this coin trick. Ben does a great job teaching the method and all of the other important details. Ben, I will practice it before I show anyone Alchemy. The method is fantastic.
Rikio Kibota • California • 03/30/13
Alchemy is a very cool trick. It looks amazing when done right. I am still refining my technique, and by that I mean I still suck at it, but I am definitely glad I purchased this. It's just amazing.
Daryl Chew • Singapore • 03/27/13
If you are really into coins, this is a must buy. Really slow, clean, and nothing to hide.
Danny • Malaysia • 03/17/13
Best coin vanish plus it can be used as a transformation trick which is the best trick I've ever learned. Others are always left unclean and unable to do other things after the vanish.
Ahmed • Canada • 03/14/13
A truly genius vanish and an amazing change. With practice you can make this look like real magic.
Greg • New Hampshire • 03/13/13
Awesome trick. Totally had me fooled to the point where I could not sleep until I knew the method behind it. Very clean ending and great instruction by Ben. Recommended for anyone who likes coin tricks. Can't say enough about the wow factor!
Noah • New York • 03/02/13
This is a great trick. I have been practicing this trick since I bought it and it has a very clean ending. I have to say this trick requires a lot of time and effort to make it trick someone. One false move and you will reveal the trick. Anyway, thanks for the great trick.
Chad • Pittsburgh • 03/01/13
Ever wanted to know what it feels like to do REAL magic? That is exactly what this looks like. The handling was difficult at first, not because the idea was impractical but because I don't do any vanishes in my act and because I am always nervous about having to carry and/or wear some gimmick all night long. This is now my favorite coin vanish, hands down. This is a great "now you see it, now you don't" vanish. I will warn you though, if you have smaller hands, you will want to use a bigger coin. I myself can not use anything smaller than a 50 cent piece, and I only use a silver dollar just to be safe. Practice this a lot and you will seriously freak people out!
Thomas • Wollongong • 02/28/13
This is an AMAZING trick and I love how clean it ends. This is the closest I have ever been to real alchemy and this is the closest I need to get. Thanks for the awesome trick.
Dom Whitlock • England • 02/19/13
I don't normally do coin magic, but when I saw the trailer I fell in love with it and thought it could be the trick that starts me in coin magic. I was wrong. Credit to Ben Seidman, it's a quality trick. The method is tricky but worth buying for seasoned coin magicians. If you don't normally do coin magic this trick is not for you. Again, I don't want people thinking I'm slating the trick, I'm just saying it's not for me or other non-coin magicians.
Ben Goodall • England • 02/17/13
This trick is so much fun to practice and perform. The method is just so creative and when you first try it, you will feel like a pro. It's just such a beautiful vanish and change. For only $9.95 it's an absolute steal! Buy it and you will not be disappointed!:)
Jonah • England • 02/10/13
Great impromptu coin effect! A little knacky but an amazing move once you've got it down!
Miguel • Switzerland • 01/29/13
The effect is just stunning. The method is a little hard, yes, but as soon as you've got it down, you feel like a master. It's worth every penny, and it's even better when practicing the effect. Such a fooler!
Marc • Canada • 01/20/13
Alchemy is probably the best impromptu coin vanish/change. It's one of those tricks where you slap yourself after you find out how it's done.
Jordan • United States • 01/18/13
Great trick. So simple yet visual. I really like this trick. Took me about to a week to get it down because it was kind of hard but when you get it, it is amazing.
Jordan P. • U.S.A • 01/05/13
When I would watch this, I was trying so hard to figure it out. So I just bought it and now I just feel so dumb. Its a very simple trick and yet it is an attention grabber if done right. It takes a while to do the trick but when you get it down, then you're golden. Worth every penny. Great effect.
Kyle • PA • 01/02/13
This vanish is absolutely stunning, and the countless other effects that can be done with it are amazing. It might be a little tricky getting the move smoothed out at first, but when you do, the effect looks remarkable!
David Aliff • Maryland • 12/28/12
Alchemy is probably one of the best coin tricks you will ever buy that does not need a gimmick, although I will say the technique is kind of hard to master, but once you have it down, I am 100% sure you will amaze everyone you show it to! I highly recommend this to anyone who likes coin tricks.
Alex • Girona, Catalonia • 12/26/12
I was hesitant to buy this given the warnings some reviewers gave regarding the level of difficulty, but am glad I have done so in the end. Although the move is not easy, it is by no means as difficult as made out to be by some reviewers. It also inspires you to a whole range of possible variations. At the moment I am doing a variation I thought up that works for me.
Also, it's cleanliness makes it especially worth learning. It feels good to just be able to show your hands and arms with nothing to hide. The explanation itself is clear and often witty. You are also given the angle view from the back, which I think is essential for all coin and card tricks. Also, the trick is shown multiple times.
No regrets with this one.
Bryce Huckabay • California • 11/18/12
Having Alchemy for about a year now, I haven't done an actual review.... until now. (Creepy mechanical laugh.)
Method: This is very clever! No one will figure this out if you do it at the right angle, don't flash, and with some great audience management. 9/10.
Vanish: I literally watched this and I was buying. It's so fricken fooling. And the fact that it's clean and you can roll your sleeves up is genius. This is awesome. 8/10.
Change: What The FRICK?! This is even better than the vanish because the fact that you're vanishing it makes people suspicious. But this, people aren't gonna figure this out. 9/10.
Teaching: Learning from an expert, duh, It's Good! I mean, you're learning from a professional so, you know it's gonna be good teaching. 10/10.
Quality: I know theie cameras are I bet thousands of dollars, so I'm asking for christmas. 10/10.
Humor: Ben is pretty funny. I wonder if he's a comedian too. 9/10.
Overall: I really think you consider buying this if you love good, clean, awesome, fooling magic that will definitely freak out people. Hey Ben, if you're reading this (probably not.), 10/10!
Zach • Singapore • 11/06/12
I highly recommend this if you are looking for a clean and visual coin vanish. Requires some practice though!
rvee • california • 10/28/12
It is a very visual trick I highly recommend it but the technique will require you to practice hard.
AK • Japan • 10/19/12
This is a lethal weapon for any coin workers. This move is a little difficult, but once you get it down, you will not be disappointed. What a cool way to make coins magical. Highly recommended.
Wei • NYC • 10/17/12
I like the vanish. The only thing is that it is too similar to the vanish of Ponta the Smith.
Jahid • London • 10/12/12
This requires lots of hard work and practice, but is really cool once mastered.
Nathanael Bergen • Poland • 10/05/12
Knacky. Difficult. Angley.
Those are words you'll see a lot with this effect - but should you be discouraged by them?
Knacky - some of the best effects require a knack; not everything is self working.
Difficult - you should always strive as a magician to push the limits of your knowledge and abilities; some things take practice.
Angley - this is just an excuse for people who are not good at audience management. I don't want to be harsh, but one of the best things I ever learned about coin or magic in general was from Eric Jones: taking ONE step back can clear most angle issues.
So again, saying angles it just an excuse for poor execution.
If you're a serious coin worker - you would be daft if you passed this up.
Jacob • Denmark • 10/03/12
This move is genius. It accomplishes something many people think is impossible, and to me it is like the pass for card guys. I simply NEED to get this perfect, but it is extremely knacky, and you have to be in special conditions and it has angle issues, but it can be solved by taking a step back and Ben teaches some tips on the download. All in all, get this if you want to get something incredible, but it takes practice.
Boris Stainoff • NYC • 10/03/12
A bit impractical but once you get the move down, it will provide of good use.
Tuval • Israel • 10/02/12
After you master it, it looks so good that you will fool yourself!
Lukaz • Macedonia • 09/30/12
It's a very good effect. If you put a little work into it, it will be great. You will love this effect cause it's very good and smooth.
Derek • Canada • 09/21/12
What can I say? Such an awesome vanish/change. Angles are a bit sensitive but with the right audience management it should be a breeze.
Sylvester M. • New York • 08/15/12
Brilliant effect. Brilliant method. The best impromptu coin vanish I have ever seen. You can show BOTH hands completely empty at the end, and you have nothing to hide.
The instruction was detailed and easy to follow, although the move itself requires a bit of practice to master. I love it.
Joshua • Stamford, CT • 06/20/12
This trick is impromptu, but I must say that it is not a vanish I would use. It's so hard, and lets just say that half the time you try the vanish, the coin falls to the ground-even with practice.
Brannon • Texas • 06/05/12
This trick is easy to figure out if you perform it without a lot of practice! But when you figure out how to do it right, and spend a good amount of time practicing and perfecting your angles (this trick is not angle friendly AT ALL), it is a fantastic effect and leaves your audience baffled.
Vladimir • Russia • 06/03/12
Wonderful trick! I really like it!!!
carlos aguilar • los angeles • 05/24/12
This is one of the best impromptu vanishes I have seen. Very smooth, clean, and visual.
Edwin Bakker • The Netherlands • 05/07/12
I really like the effect. The vanish is smooth and visual.
The secret is genius! It is hard to do, but worth it. If you like a challenge, you should buy this.
At first, you will not get it the way you want it. But once you're through the basics; you can preform a miracle that will drop jaws.
I almost only do tricks that are impromptu, so you can borrow things and be absolutely clean once the trick is done. This is a perfect example of creative thinking and a great idea. The only thing you should keep in mind is that you can't do it surrounded.
I would say: buy it and master it. At first, you'll think it's weird when you see how it works. But if you put the time and effort into it, you can create a miracle at any time, anywhere, and with any coin.

Being a magician, I love tricks that don't require gimmicks and setups. I prefer pure sleight of hand. When people say ''do a trick'', I always include this effect because it's absolutely amazing. This trick is a definite MUST. :)
Obsidion • Whiting • 03/15/12
Oh my god, wow, just wow. Being a magician I have to say this trick is one of my top favorites.

Absolutely amazing trick! Brilliant technique and well worth buying! 10/10
Vardnan Sivarajah • Oslo,Norway • 02/16/12
This is a pretty awesome trick! Looks like PURE Magic. Kind of hard the first time you learn it. When you've mastered the trick, the sky is the limit for what you can change it into!
Jase • Wyoming • 02/10/12
Well here's another reveiw. I just purey love this trick, it makes people crap their pants. I did this trick, and I had two girls S C R E A M I N G, and a few guys swearing a lot. The rest just laughed in disbelief; I totally recommend this. It should be at LEAST 15 dollars. It is awesome. But if you are looking for a easy simple trick that you can go and blow minds with that same day, buy this. But listen to this, this trick you WILL NOT be able to master or even barely be able to do in one day. It is a practice time taker. It is hard. But once you get the moves down and everything, it is easy. But the reason I said that if you wanted to perform it the same day, easy trick, buy this this trick. It's hard, but still buy it! You will be so glad.
B U Y T H I S T R I C K N O W!
Jase • Wyoming • 02/05/12
Really nice. I was really new to magic after I bought this, and holy crap, it was impossibly hard. But I practiced it for 2 days straight, and got it down; and by 'straight' I mean continuously, non-stop practice ALL day, then ALL night, and they ALL day again. Longest break from practicing was about 5 minutes. But don't be discouraged because the trick is fairly hard, BUY IT! Trust me, you will be so happy you did. Ben teaches it very well, plus you get a funny video in the beginning of the reveal. I PROMISE this will end up in your favorite coin tricks.
Sudereds • Sdereredus • 02/04/12
Well, it would be 5 stars, but the last move (the coin ditch) is really knacky and the vanish is really obvious what you did. But, here is a list of things that will help you perform the trick easier: fairly long fingers, decent hand eye coordination, and not having the urge to watch the coin the whole time.
Scott • Idaho • 01/07/12
This is the first coin trick I got. It's not an easy move to do, so I would recommend starting off with something else. This is definitely a trick you should get after you work up to its level.
Dr. Ayala • Michigan • 01/03/12
This routine is very well thought out, and I love the handling - very, very clean.
As has been mentioned in the video and in other reviews, this is not for beginners but should be something you work up to. I have been using techniques of this manner for some years via the work of Johan Ståhl and Rune Klan, and this routine/utility is a great idea.
I also must point out that his ROV was one of the nicest I have seen performed - very well done and very deceptive!
Matt • United Kingdom • 01/03/12
Amazing! The trick, the performance, the reactions, the price, everything about it is great. The trick takes some practice but not too much. Wow - what a trick.
Mitch Rothstein • New Jersey • 12/24/11
I love the effect and method; it's totally impromptu. Ben teaches the sleight very well and gives great suggestions and subtleties. The move is not INCREDIBLY hard though it WILL take some practice to perfect. The price makes it an absolute overall steal. All together: 10/10.
Jake • Florida • 11/25/11
Alchemy is a great effect. Everything looks perfect! Although it's a very hard move and you have to practice a lot, it's worth it. I highly recommend it.
Bob • New York • 11/24/11
Alchemy is a great effect although I don't recommend this to beginners - it's going to take alot of practice!
Io • Amsterdam • 11/13/11
It's exactly what it looks like in the preview. Deceptive, clean, impromtu and it blows your spectators away! I even fooled some magicians with it. Only reason to not give it 5 stars, for some it will take a LOT of practice.
Nick • Ontario • 11/13/11
Unreal! Should cost 20 at least, so deceptive. Takes practice but so worth it!
Dean • Singapore • 11/12/11
Great trick but requires real practice. Get it!
Jason • Chicago • 10/27/11
Awesome illusion, a must have for every coinworker.
Lisha • Ohio • 10/26/11
Very nice effect! When you buy it, you'll need to practice it, but it's worth it! Only $9.99? It's a STEAL!
Joseph • New Jersey • 09/12/11
It definitely needs practice, but it's 100% worth it.
Jack • Texas • 08/23/11
I love this method! Being an intermediate level coin worker, it took me a couple hours to get it down. The method is easily within anyone's grasp and Ben Seidman teaches every aspect in a clear, easy to follow way. Highly recommended!

This sleight is my favorite that I have purchased from theory11, and I really enjoy it. This move will take practice but the reactions are worth it. A very valuable sleight. Thanks! Goodbye.
Chris • Germany • 07/13/11
I show it to all my friends and I blow them away.
Nelson • Florida • 07/12/11
Amazing effect as well as awesome instruction by Mr. Seidman. But those who are new to coin magic, be warned this is not an effect that you will be performing within the first week of buying it.
Ulee • Taiwan • 07/07/11
Incredible sleight, and valuable to learn! Maybe it seems hard to do, but if you practice it for a while, you will find that Alchemy is not difficult at all.
Kris • Belgium • 07/04/11
I can only confirm what just about everyone here already stated:
1. Great stuff, but watch your angles
2. Takes cojones to perform
3. Yes, will need practice, but that's only normal for an effect this clean
Production is top notch: Mr Seidman takes his time and, unlike so many other instructional movies, is not wasting ours.
Dan • England • 06/30/11
I love the method. It is a masterpiece and looks like real magic, but will take a fair amount of practice.
Dan • England • 06/28/11
It's a really great method and excellent tutorial, but it takes a decent amount of practice.
Seth • Midland Park • 06/22/11
Not what I expected at all! It is a tough move though, so it takes more practice than the other sleights.
Bobby • Jupiter • 06/18/11
This trick is great. A little tough at first, but once you learn and accept the move, it looks so real.
Kethan F • Raleigh, NC • 06/18/11
This is a very simple stunning trick that no one can figure out.
If you're not much of a coin worker like me, this may take some time. I foolishly bought this when I was a beginner, and it's taken me almost a month to get right. So I would recommend staying away until you're a good coin magician. But other than that it's amazing. Definitely needs practice.
Gregory • Canada • 04/29/11
The mind of the layman has absolutely nowhere to go! At last a coin move that shocks as much as cards! Absolutely ingenious and amazing!
Jace Tandeski • Kent, WA • 04/08/11
I couldn't believe the method! I wish I had thought of it before. With some work, you may be able to turn a coin into a mandarin orange! The best vanish I've ever seen!
Paddyy • Wirral • 03/30/11
This is an awesome trick, so simple yet nobody can figure out how to do it! This isn't a trick for coin begginers though, unless you're willing to practice. This was my first ever coin trick, it took me about a week and a half to master, but it paid off. Hook. Line. Sinker.
Mitchell M. • Traverse City • 03/06/11
This is an amazing trick! I bout this two nights ago and I can't put it down. Worth the $10 in every way. I would recemmond lots of practice because this is a tough one. Enjoy!
Dave B • London, UK • 02/01/11
The method is simple and elegant, and the tutorial is presented in great depth, at a pace that enables you to catch the more subtle points that make this change/vanish work. The method is broken down into phases that you can practice in isolation and you will need to practice. A lot. But I reckon it's worth it. Watching Ben perform the moves is a lesson in handling that we can all benefit from too. Nice one!
Jon • Yakima, Wa • 01/27/11
I absolutely love this kind of magic. Simple, Impromptu, and EXTREMELY POWERFUL! This is what magic is all about. If you do ANY coin work you need this!
Chris Lu • Iowa, USA • 01/26/11
THIS. IS. SICK. I didn't think that an effect like this could be done. This is as close to real coin magic as you'll get. It's not easy, it takes skill, but in time you will have eyes bulging.
Brad • Canada • 01/22/11
I love it! Takes alot of practice to get the move down but once you do It's sooooooooo worth it! May be a bit challenging for beginners but I find that if you can do a convincing Spellbound change or French Drop in front of an audience then you should definitely consider buying this!
Once you have the one move down, the rest is easy (compared to the move). All in all you should definitely buy this if you are into coin and general magic, it will be a great addition to your repertoire!
Derek • Austin, TX • 01/22/11
An awesome effect. I had doubts, because I was convinced there was something more to it. Was very happy to learn of the simplicity and fluidity of the move. Way to go Ben!
Kenny • Malaysia • 01/11/11
This effect is one of the best coin vanishes or changes I have ever seen or learned. Good job, Ben Seidman!
Daniel Cullen • Indiana • 01/11/11
Ben is the man!
Randall • South Carolina • 01/08/11
Absolutely beautiful! This is what magic should be. It will take some time and skill, but definitely worth the effort.
Eric Lippin • New York • 01/07/11
I've gotta say I love this vanish/change. As Ben says on the video, it is truly meant to be a change, and it is one of the closest things to true magic I have in my coin repertoire. Though I think that this is something any serious coin worker should have, there are a few minor downsides.
First, it is not easy. If you are a beginner who is buying this because it looks flashy, don't. Second, the cleanup is less than ideal, though by no means does it ruin the trick. Finally, and it's more of a comment than a negative, but there are minor angle issues.
If you already do coin work you should be fine, but you still can't do it for more than a few people. Overall though, the positives vastly outweigh the few minor concerns.
Thomas • Ohio • 01/05/11
Amazing! It is so much fun to learn - and even better to perform! So many possibilities with this trick - there are no gimmicks or anything. I highly recommend it.
Rob Domenech • Texas • 01/03/11
I had the pleasure of watching Ben perform this and it fried me. I asked him to do it again and he fooled me again! I had no idea where the coin went!
Alchemy is one of the cleanest and prettiest bare-handed coin vanishes I have ever seen. Any serious close-up performer that works with coins should have this in their arsenal.
Tony Anaya • Mexico • 01/03/11
I'm speechless! It's so beautiful and clean.
Dakota Hicks • Wilkesboro, NC • 01/03/11
Damn. Thats all there really is to say (other then a few more things). The effect looks beautiful and the method is stunning. It's knacky, but that's a good thing because that means if you take the time to learn and master the sleight then youll always have something that you can count on and you'll be less likely to give the method away. Be prepared to practice and prepared to have fun.
Jeff Bornstein • Hollywood, CA • 01/02/11
WOW... if I can work this into our show we'll buy the rights to it! GREAT JOB!
Francis • New York • 01/01/11
Awesome! The method is very slick but will take some practice. I think it's well worth the money; Ben explains everything in detail including how to get the coin back. This is definitely something I'm going to use once I master it!
Ekaterina Dobrokhotova • Montreal, Quebec • 01/01/11
It's definitely something that can fool you, but I would not give it 5 stars because I was expecting something more practical. It is impromptu though, but will require a lot of confidence in the execution of the move prior to performing. A cute little challenge for coin lovers.
Devan • Australia • 01/01/11
A great trick, wonderfully demonstrated by Ben. Best performed by an intermediate level magician for a small audience group standing in front of you.
Just the initial coin hide tips are worth the price of admission, and with some practice, the actual vanish will have your audience mesmerized.
I like the additional details Ben put into the presentation, for example, the 'recovery' part which is often missed on most videos I've seen.
