Magic Tricks

Detach by Rick Lax

EVERYTHING you know about balloon magic is about to be TORN to pieces.

Rick Lax, creator of Vertigo, brings an impromptu balloon effect that transcends logic and expectation. You show an ordinary balloon and blow it up. With a twist and a pop, the balloon VISUALLY and AUDIBLY detaches into two pieces - one in each hand. You slowly bring the pieces side by side, then fuse them into one, unaltered balloon - handed out for complete examination immediately.

A simple, powerful effect that you can perform at a moment's notice.

Detach uses NO special gimmicks and can be handed out for complete examination. You start clean and end clean. There are no funny movements or awkward misdirections. It's as straightforward and natural as magic gets. In this 20 minute download, Rick Lax takes you step by step, teaching you all the details and subtleties that make Detach look so brilliant and deceptive.

Bonus Effect Included! A quick, perfect opener for Detach.

Also included is an astoundingly simple balloon multiplication effect! Take a single balloon, blow it up, and produce a handful of balloons as it deflates. Rick's balloon multiplication is the perfect opener for Detach and the rest of your balloon magic. With Detach, you'll learn everything - all you need is a balloon and you've got a miracle ready to be performed at a moment's notice!

Detach by Rick Lax Visually split and restore an ordinary balloon.

A balloon is audibly SPLIT into two pieces, then slowly, visually fused back together. Let them examine it immediately.

Pushing the limits on a simple object; A NON-GIMMICKED BALLOON. The explanation in the video is extremely well done and detailed.

Dave • Wisconsin • 04/14/13

I think this is really smart and I love how you end clean! It also uses no gimmicks and no extras!

Jared Loi • Malaysia • 04/04/13

Detach is definitely something that you'll wanna get. Especially if you're going for a family or friends party.

A very mind blowing effect! Do it anytime, anywhere, and end completely clean! Great job, Rick Lax.

Absolutely brilliant. This is just a brilliant trick, so simple, so clean, and so effective. This is a hard hitting effect that will astound your audiences. Buy it, just buy it.

This is a true gem. Balloon magic is a nice break from cards and coins because laymen NEVER see it coming.
"Detach" itself as a move is extremely deceptive and visual. It is faithful to "No gimmick, clean start, clean finish" and that in itself is great to have.
Also, in addition to "Detach" you will recieve an added bonus effect, (in reality you are only paying $15 for two effects) which leads in well to the main effect.
Balloon tricks are great for kids and I look forward to wowing a lot of kids at the local schools I do shows for, but don't let that be a turn off, this trick is a great addition to any routine for all ages and is complimentry to "Pressure".
Truly a great piece of art.

This is a really great trick, a real fooler. I recently used it at a children's magic show so the trick needed to be quite angle proof. The trick went down really well, no one spotted a thing and you know what little 6 year olds are like!! It seems to be relatively fine for most angles> Well done Rick!!! :)

Hank • Australia • 02/15/13

Very simple trick that with some practice you will be able to perform.

Jordan • Canada • 01/07/13

Really nice effect. Easy to do, gimmick free, and GREAT reactions!

Josh • CA • 01/02/13

Rick has done an amazing job with this effect. The explanation is very through and easy to follow. Warning! This trick is angle sensitive. Despite this within a few hours you'll be performing this confidently. The bonus trick is almost up to par with the headliner! This is definitely worth adding to your cart!

Gimmick free so it's easy to end clean. Really deceptive, completely fools people.

Now instead of boring my audiences with a seventeen-phase Progressive Sandwich Routine followed up by a Triumph kicker, I can just do Detach. Since when did life get so easy? 5/5

Great trick. A bit angle sensitive, yet will have people in disbelief.

Simple to do, gimmick free, and the perfect impromtu trick.

Good idea man. Congratulations!

Hank • Sydney • 10/23/12

It's a great trick to have, easy to do - but need to practice to master the angles when performing.

Wei • NYC • 10/17/12

This is a weird effect like no others, and the best part is that it is purely sleight of hand.

  • 5
Christiaan • Johannesburg , South Africa • 10/06/12

Detach is almost the best impromptu balloon effect ever! It is really astonishing with the method used ! You begin clean and end clean. Although this is a quite hard effect, it's still damn epic! Thanks Rick!

Tuval • Israel • 10/02/12

Great and simple effect, just work on your angles and you will be fine.

  • 5
Hunter • New York • 09/26/12

I think the best part about this effect is that it's impromptu. When someone asks to see a magic trick on the spot, they're expecting some lame card trick. But you do this with a borrowed balloon at anytime. This is great for parties too (ya know, because of the balloon).

Beware of the angles! Other than that, this is a really good trick which is rather convincing. However, don't perform this for kids who will go right behind to watch and ruin the trick.

  • 5
Ricardo • Mexico • 09/23/12

Great effect but be careful with angles.

Boris Stainoff • NYC • 09/23/12

Holy Rick Lax! Amazing, purchase this.

Jin • Singapore • 09/22/12

A very powerful trick! I like to use it with pressure which is also available for purchase at theory11. The price is very reasonable.

Ricardo • Mexico • 09/22/12

Its a great effect, but you have to be careful with the angles.

  • 5
Oli Smith • England • 09/22/12

Direct and powerful magic. Not too difficult too perform but a healthy amount of misdirection might be needed at the beginning of the effect. Great quality, detailed explanation, and a bonus effect that's damn near as good the the title effect. What more could you want??

George • UK • 09/21/12

It's powerful and to the point. I WILL use this (plus it's fun to perform).

Bryce Huckabay • California • 06/03/12

This is a great trick, here's my review.

Method: A really clever method. Most tricks I figure out right away, but this is hard to figure out!

Effect: Ripping a balloon and putting it back, freaking awesome!

Price: This is set at the right price!

Bonus Effect: Amazing! I can't believe I couldn't figure it out by watching it!

Conclusion: FREAKING AWESOME TRICK!!!

This trick is AMAZING! Buy It Now!!!

The bonus effect is better than the normal one!

Michael Boothe • Arizona • 04/09/12

I bought it and I must say that I am impressed with it. It's just so convincing. When I rip the lip of the balloon off I actually feel like I ripped it off because of the sound that it makes.

My only worry with this trick is the angles. Rick never really did go over the angles (not like he needed too, but it would have been nice for T11 to mention it before I bought it). There is an angle problem with this trick, but with a little crowd management I think it will be fine.

The bonus effect is just visual, definitely a favorite of mine now. I appreciate the trick Rick!

Such a simple yet hard hitting effect. Blew me away when I first saw it. Method is very clever. Thanks for putting this out, great work!

Ezekiel Davis • Florida • 02/29/12

This is amazingly simple. You'll be practicing this in the mirror as soon as you watch the explanation. Rick did a really good job in the explanation. He covered every single point of the effect. So that said, it wouldn't take you long at all to practice and master it. This is definitely a good buy.

Finally I have something to go with Pressure. If you perform Pressure, you really should buy this effect. Totally worth the money.
