The best cardistry project ever. The tutorials are really well explained and the quality is HD. It's awesome!

This DVD is packed with lots of amazing flourishes! Michael is one of the best teachers in the industry!

Great quality, instructions, and flourishes. IT IS DEFINITELY CHALLENGING. If you are expecting to grab this DVD and bust out all 10 of these flourishes later that day, unless you are extremely skilled that's not going to happen. But if you want a great challenge and to bring your cardistry up a notch, then grab this DVD.

Maybe one of the best cardistry DVD's out right now.
Papercuts from Chris Hestnes is great, but it doesn't teach it nearly as well as Solo. The talking makes it a lot more easier to learn and follow with.
Dan and Dave's Trilogy and The System are legendary and one of a kind, but this DVD has 10 completely modern flourishes, that are flashy and nice.
Yes, this DVD is difficult but if you're a hardcore flourisher, get this. If you're not, still get this. It's amazing just to watch these flourishes in slow motion and fast.
Overall, I think this is one of the best purchase I've made from theory11. Like, no joke. I think this is the best product on here.

I didn't know much about Michael James before this DVD but man am I glad I discovered him. He is a fantastic flourisher who's skill level I put up there with the Buck twins. The teaching on the DVD is great and there are some fantastic flourishes in here. This is not for beginner however, you should make sure you have a decent understanding behind flourishing before purchasing.

Solo is everything to be expected from Michael James and more. This DVD teaches all of the flourishes well and that makes it easy to follow. The bonus moves are also very good and easy to learn. To anyone who is into cardistry and looking for a challenge, you should definitely buy this DVD. Good Job Michael James!

Solo is amazing! Like it.

The flourishes are just too amazing to be true! A must-buy for any flourish lover!
Daniel • Ottawa • 11/24/12
Great flourishes and good deal of variety in the DVD. These are well explained and many of the moves can be used to to further elaborate your own flourishes. Indeed, this is AMAZING!

Michael James produces a magnificent DVD filled with many flourishes and bonus moves. Every single flourish is exceptionally well taught with over the shoulder view and multiple angles as well. All of it is shot in stunning HD which really enhances his performance. There are however some down points which i was a little disappointed about. Although this DVD is rated difficult, there is no warning about having to learn previous moves which are used extensively in his flourishes. For example, the Charlier cut, the Scissor cut and the Revolution cut are almost used in every move he teaches. This wasn't a problem for me personally but I can imagine the frustration for others who haven't learnt these moves. But the most disappointing aspect in my point of view was the move, Tidal Wave. Tidal Wave is my favourite flourish of his and it is basically an extended and more complex version of the Tornado cut. There is a specific way in which to hold the deck when doing this move and he teaches Tidal Wave as if you have already learnt the Tornado cut and doesn't give an explanation about how its done. So this really disappointed me because I struggled trying to figure out how to hold the deck. Anyway, apart from these minor downpoints, this DVD is absolutely excellent and I strongly recommend it to anyone who is willing of a challenge. Dont be intimidated by its difficulty. Yes its hard, and I'm an intermediate, but its not impossible. I have already leant half of the moves already. Everything you gain from this DVD will benefit you enormously, you will be able to create and recreate old flourishes with more style and passion. His pricing is also extremely fair and you get every bit out of it. So, on that note; Michael, you have created something brilliant and I look forward to any upcoming projects that you're involved in.

Every single one of these flourishes are incredible and taught in great detail. I thoroughly enjoyed the story about each flourish and how it came to be. Very good flourishes and well worth the price.

Michael James is a serious genius and gifted person in the flourishing industry. All the flourishes in this DVD are all gems. Not only can he invent amazing flourishes, but he can perform in style.
5/5 for this absolutely amazing DVD.
And if possible, please create more flourishes and DVDs like this in the future. Your flourishes have truly inspired me to create amazing, original flourishes of my own!

This is the best cardistry DVD I have bought this far. The explanation is just wonderful and the moves are well thought out. Hats off to you Michael James!

Excellent DVD. The trailer was what got me into Cardistry, then I instantly purchased it! The explanations were top of the line, with perfect camera angles that made it fairly easy to learn the moves! Michael James will not disappoint you in this DVD with many flourishes, all uniquely different, making it a movie for anyone's DVD collection!

Wow. Magnificent, Astonishing, Just Fricking Brilliant!
On this DVD Michael James teaches 10 stylish, smooth and visually appealing original flourishes, as well as 4 bonus moves. As some of you may remember Michael released some flourishes in a previous project called Project One. He has retained some of these flourishes in this production, but don't worry, there's more than enough new material in there to keep you busy for a really long time! Let's go into some details about these flourishes:-
Elysium- This flourish is smooth, flashy and eye- catching. It's a single card rotating on a packet, around your hand, replaced back on the packet, then another card is stripped and before you know it there's an awesome 3 packet display in front of you.
Arriflex- This flourish was inspired by Kevin Ho. It's long, complicated, and looks really cool. There's so much going on it's mind blowing.
Mysterium- Short, spinny, and stylish. It's got a unique opener which is interesting to experiment with.
Reinvention- Originally a variation of Molecule 3 by the Bucks, but totally and completely different. It has a theme of a card being stripped from a rotating packet, replaced and repeated. Elegant.
Collective- A huge 6 packet display, with a 'flarey' closer. Really fun to do.
Reich- Cool name, cool flourish. Spins, rotations, and an aerial closer. Awesome.
Zero- Inspired by Chris Webber. Really fast, nice rhythm, just plain cool!
Tidalwave- Based on Ashford Kneitel's Tornado flourish. Basically James' version of Mockingbird or Pandora.
Ekklesia- Micheal's all time signature flourish. Fast, smooth, so appealing to the eye. Awesomeness isn't as awesome as this.
Twistor- A one card flourish, quite nice, but not the best. You might think differently.
Elite- Based on Elysium, quick and addicting.
Whirlpool- This is the best flourish off the DVD, and also my all time favorite move! Michael really doesn't do it justice by putting it in the bonus section. It's quick, addicting, and looks damn great!
Skydive- A fast, flashy, easy to do aerial flourish. Michael's version of the Bucks' Dropzone cut.
Upload- The ending of Ekklessia as a quick flourish. Not bad.
The teaching on this DVD is great. Explained verbally, and shown in slow motion which makes everything easy to understand. There's also an extra clip of the flourish being done in slow motion, which I really admire. As well as teaching the move Michael gives a brief introduction which is quite interesting.
There are many special features including; Cardistry performance videos (featuring Andrei Jikh), an interview, and Outtakes. So much entertainment is packed into this DVD.
The most outstanding thing about this DVD is the Cinematography. The Theory11 crew has done an exceptional job of making a simple Cardistry instructional video look like a Christopher Nolan film. Editing is amazing, quality is great, nothing can be faulted.
This has taken Cardistry and Cinematography to another level. BUY IT RIGHT NOW... you won't regret a thing. Good job Theory11, and thank you for this!

Real great stuff. Hard for me because I am a real newbie to cardistry. But the way it is explained and the final slow-mo is so great. And specifically the way it is shot from the point of view of the perfumer so that you know how it looks from your point of view and that way you know exactly how to do it. TIP: make sure that you really wanna put the time and effort into learning this. It is not easy and you need to put some hours of practice. So if you are looking for something quick to learn then don't buy it. It is not for you.

Beautiful work. Buy it now.
I just bought the download and watched the special features as my dry hands aren't ready for hardcore practice just yet. Solo satisfies my long time craving for the synergy of elegant cardistry with the cinematography of Andrew Blake.
Mark Goss • Los Angeles • 01/30/12
There isn't one flourish in the 10 that I don't want to learn. They are all top of the line moves in a style that is so dynamic and flashy that I can't stop drooling on my keyboard. I'm expecting to have to put some serious time in to getting these down but the production of the videos is so good that it's easy to see how the moves work. Michael James is as good as it gets. If you want to learn pro flourishes, here they are. I can't believe I got so much for my money.

Just got this and I have to say WOW. Michael's style of flourishing suits me perfectly. I started on the Dan & Dave style packet cuts back in the day. This is going to freshen-up my downtime chilling with a deck of cards. I've been slightly disappointed that cardistry is going towards the 'build a shape with your deck' or make a giant fan style. Thankfully this DVD has brought something fresh to the community and is jam-packed with packet cuts that will entertain you for hours. If you haven't added this to your cart.....you're probably De'vo.

OMG - I love the trailer. Looks like a damn movie. Great job guys.

Solo is simply stunning! The cinematography is amazing, the locations are breathtaking, and of course the flourishes are creative, stylish and beautiful. My personal favorites are Arriflex, Zero, and Elysium. The explanations are split into two sections, which are a verbal walkthrough and a slow no words walkthrough. Both are very clear and helpful. The only aspect that I was disappointed about though was that the instant download (For macs at least) was a little unorganized. The whole download comes in a folder and inside are other multiple folders. In each are an introduction, a performance, and an explanation of a flourish. I just wish it had a little bit of a better format, but all in all it is the best cardistry project I have ever experienced. Great job T11!
