This is one of the best DVDs I have ever bought.

This was one of my first magic DVD's my brother and I purchased. Everything on here is taught with intricate detail and easy to follow, a must buy for anyone who wants to learn some really cool things.

I got this as a gift and I have to tell you that it is amazing!

This is the set of DVDs that got me back into magic. I loved how the Buck twins really put a lot of art into their movements, making it smooth and entertaining to watch. That being said, I got sucked it by the appearance of a camera. As I practiced, I realized that the level of practicality this set offers isn't for everyone. Don't get me wrong, there is good stuff here, especially if you are a YouTube magician. But for most part, I wouldn't recommend this.

This DVD set is really wonderful. The tricks are really visual and powerful, the flourishes are really flashy, and the finger exercises are really effective.

Epic dvd set! It's hard at the beginning but it feels really good after you master some of the tricks! Good job Dan and Dave!

If you are just a beginner, this is not good for you. However, if you are an advanced card worker, or a very ambitious magician for the next level, you can't miss this epoch-making collection. Nothing here is easy, and it requires hard practice, but it is indeed visual.

This is an amazing DVD set - this is how I started in card magic. I don't suggest anyone who is just starting out to do it, but for more advance card handlers, this is a must have.

In their S.E.A tour recently in Malaysia, I met them live in their lecture and they are truly amazing people. With their excellent skill in sleight of hand, magic and flourishes, their hands are magic itself. But of course, I don't know which twin is better at which!

In this DVD, the tricks, flourishes and sleights are all gems, no doubt. They are so good that I wish they would make more tricks, flourishes and sleights in the future, creating more DVDs to continue The Trilogy.

If you haven't gotten their DVD(s) or any of their book(s), please do. I got truly inspired by this DVD set. Not only would I use all the tricks, sleight of hand, and flourishes but I would try to create my own original stuff - hopefully as good as the Buck Twins. :)

This review applies to all DVDS AND BOOKS they created-

1. THE SYSTEM
2. THE TRILOGY
3. THE TRILOGY: ANDTHENSOME
4. TWOTHOUSANDTEN(LECTURE DVD)
5. IF AN OCTOPUS COULD PALM
6. S.E.A LECTURE NOTES
7. ORGANIC
8. D&D On Demand Tricks and Flourishes - "GYROSCOPE", "MILLER CASCADE CONTROL"

Everything they create are exceptionally well thought out and original. They are all absolute gems.

At times ANY magician will be about to give up, and the week I bought this-before I bought it- I was thinking magic was over. I thought, 'Whats the point if magic? You can't get paid for it much, and buying things is a waste of money.' That's all i could think about-magic is a waste-but I overlooked it and got on t11 again. I found this and was purely amazed, bought it and when I recieved the disks. I was just fascinated and the TRILOGY saved my magician career.

So don't stop magic. Quitters never win and winners never quit!

In my opinion, Best DVD for learning good quality tricks/techniques. Not because the tricks are simply amazing but also because every flourish they use, they explain in the explanation of the trick unlike many others that show a flashy performance and then just explain the foundation of the trick. With other words also for beginners and people who want to show some classy flashy moves and tricks, this DVD set is simply the best.

The Trilogy has become by absolute favorite set of card magic DVD's that I have bought within the last year or so. I also purchased their Andthensome DVD as well, and the sheer amount of effects, flourishes, and other magic goodies has kept me occupied like no other set of DVD's. Because of the extremely, highly visual nature of the effects, it has taken me quite a bit more time of practicing to get to the point of where I can perform them well enough. But that has not deterred me in the slightest, I actually enjoy the extra work that's needed to perform these effects, because once you perform them to either a lay audience or other Magicians, the response you get is overwhelming and you feel like you have truly accomplished something special in Card Magic.

I haven't bought any other effects since buying these DVD's simply because of the jaw dropping effects that are taught so extremely well. So I would like to say thank you to Dan & Dave Buck for giving a true masterpiece in the realm of Card Magic.

The true art of card manipulation and stunning visual magic. Jackson 5 is awesome and The Queens blow people away. The rest of the tricks are great, as well. This is definitely a must buy! The best DVD set of the year.

Victor Cruz • Virginia • 10/01/08

Absolutely great set. That is if your willing to put the time in. Anyone how says that they have mastered ANY, much less all, of the tricks on the DVD set in 2 weeks or 2 months is either a liar or just doesn't know what it means to master a trick.

Most of the tricks are meant to be performed for 1-3 people. What is so great about these tricks though is that they are so visual and in your face. That's why they take so much time. This tricks and flourishes will certainly gain you the respect of some of the more experienced magicians (I don't mean on the internet).

The Trilogy is a challenge, there isn't really much you need to know going into it, as far as prerequisites go, but you should not be expecting a bunch of tricks that only require a couple of double lifts.

The production is amazing, and the material is ground breaking. It will certainly keep you busy for years. Absolutely worth the price.

With out a doubt my favorite DVD/DVD set.

I got the complete 3-DVD Set and may I say that they are the greatest DVDs I've ever bought.

Tricks: Way more tricks than you'll know what to do with. Extremely visual and not too difficult. Put some practice into these and they'll be reputation makers.

Flourishes: Extremely good looking flourishes which are just plain impressive. I love the Carnahan Fan and Molecule 4. These are more for the intermediate performer.

Everything else: If you are only getting one out of the three, get this one. It's just a DVD crammed with flourishes, tricks, productions, and sleights. The flourishes section is worth the price of the whole DVD. I love the Blackjack Production and Under Pressure.

Save up your money fellas because this set is worth every penny.

Dang, I wish i had more money. I saved up enough to get the Tricks DVD. And honestly, it was probably the best DVD I've ever had. I've also heard terrific things about the other dvds but I couldn't afford all of them so i just bought the Tricks.

Go up and click the "buy" button right now. Believe me, it's worth it. The only bad thing about the DVD i got was that some parts of it were taught really fast, but I figured they knew you could rewind and watch it again if you needed to. I've had this DVD for maybe a month now, and I've learned most of the tricks to perfection. Seriously, if you don't have any of these DVD's, get at least one. You won't regret it.

This DVD set is incredible. If you buy one, you'll want the others, so just buy them all now.

Disk 1- The tricks are mostly straight-forward, but a few can be complex and confusing to your spectators. I recommend planning your patter well to avoid confusion. My favorite tricks are Hand to Mouth, Hoffzy Ozborne, and the Queens.

Disk 2- Being mainly a Cardist lately, the flourishes are ground breaking. Most will be difficult for beginners, though. My favorites are Pandora, Molecule 4, and Jackson 5.

Disk 3- Truly Everything Else. This disk is like a grab bag of random
sleights, changes, productions, table work, finger exercises, shuffles, and more. Favorites include Blackjack Production, Click Change, and Under Pressure.

Final thoughts- I give this set 9/10. It's almost perfect, but the Bucks
often confuse fingers in speech and explain harder things faster than easier ones. Besides that and a few other flaws, this set is a solid buy.

I say get it now. It's worth it.

This is the only DVD that actually took me through everything I needed to know for flourishing. I loved the Jackson 5. It only took me a week to accomplish the flourish. The only bad thing in the DVD was the Jones Change was explained wrong, but the Bucks fixed it. I have only one thing to say: ADD TO CART.

I love this DVD set. I was never really into cards before, but this changed my mind completely. The tricks are great; I love how the flourishes are taught. I got Vertigo down in a week.

This is my first DVD buy and will probably be my best, in tricks I was already fairly good so a lot of the tricks weren't that hard, actually no the tricks are TOO advanced. I got TiVO 2.0 in a month, but that is to perfect it, now I do it perfectly. Other tricks are actually not as hard but still hard. If you are getting this, get ready to practice a lot. Out of the tricks I only don't like TIVO Transpo but other the that all the tricks are awesome.

The Flourishes section looks awesome and has performances and explanations of all their awesome flourishes including the hardcore Pandora, and the infamous Jackson 5 which I tackled yesterday but can't even do the first phase of it. Basically as beginner like me you are in for a lot of practice but there is the Flourishes 101 section and the Molecule 4 cut which is fairly simple.

The everything else section is awesome: it's full of random things from color changes to ace productions to finger exercises, which it includes the very useful Flourishes 101 section. The only minus is the Jones Change was taught wrong but that's OK because it's not hard to figure out from what is given to you.

Overall: add to cart. It's amazing experience.

I need to say this is the very very best set of DVD's I have ever bought. The tricks knock laypeople dead. The flourishes leave them speechless. And everything.else leaves them wanting more. If I could of rated this DVD set higher, I would of done so.

My only words to close on: BUY ALL 3! I swear you will NOT be disappointed!

Words cannot explain these DVD's... I'm new to the art of card flourishing and I'm in awe of what these guys teach here. Flourishes 101 is invaluable to the newbies.

All the little tricks and such that I've seen them do in online videos are shown on here and a fan that i saw in the Smokin' Aces movie. Highly recommended to anyone.

All I have to say is two words: the best.

This video shocked my love for magic even if you can't get all of them get at least one. $29.99 is to cheap for how detailed this video is. Thank you Dan and Dave from the bottom of my heart for this heart dropping inspiration. Remember these two words: the best!

This DVD is awesome: add to cart! You won't regret it.

it has some crazy tricks including TiVo 2.0 and Subway, and Queens, out of the 12 tricks I only don't like the TiVo Transpo, but still that leaves me with 11 very visual tricks.

The flourishes are all cool and very challenging. I can only do 3 and not at full speed. The everything.else section is awesome, but I give it a 9/10 because the Jones change was taught wrong, but it's not that hard to figure out with what they tell you wrong. But other than that, that section is really good.

I do the finger exercises non-stop. The Click Change is really smart, the table work is pretty cool, and the Flourishes 101 section is really good. I learned the Sybil and Piroutte.

Revolutionary, and if someone says that the Flourishes 101 section is bad because it's without words, don't believe them. It has the same flourish done a bunch of times from different angles, and you see all the fingers even without the words.

This is the best DVD set I own, and I own a lot of DVD sets. The production quality is very high, the instructions are superb, the flourishes are unique, challenging, and beautiful, the tricks are very visual and can all be done with a normal borrowed deck, and the everythingelse disk is jam packed with stuff to keep even the most experienced card guy busy for years, not months.

I've owned this set since it first came out in the summer and I'm not even close to done with learning what I want to learn, let alone seeing everything on the DVD. Trust me, I'm a pretty good with the pasteboards. I can't recommend this enough if you're a card guy, at all. 10/10, easily.

This DVD set is so jampacked with revolutionary tricks and flourishes that I could recommend this to anyone.

The most amazing thing about this is not that every trick is 'jaw hitting the floor action', but more about the amount and quality of this material. Though some of the moves took some time to master, one week and i could do everything here, two weeks and i felt that they had personally taught me everything in this volume.

I thank D&D for rounding out the knowledge of tricks, flourishes, and everything else on me.

Before I only knew pick a card tricks, granting some of them are good. But now i can gauge the personality of my audience and find just the right trick for them. The bottom line is that this is the best thing you can buy to make you a better magician.

So, I wake up, find Trilogy outside my door (it didn’t fit in the mail slot), I open the box up, and BAM! The packaging is slick, it really looks professional, and when opening everything up, it folds out and displays all 3 discs + a booklet. Great looking.

Disc 1: Tricks

Well, it was better than I expected, and the performance of TiVo 2.0 gave me an Eye-gasm. Looked so clean and visual. The other effects were of course performed well. Ever since I read about Dracula Count in Sleightly Magical, I’ve never found it deceptive, but seeing it performed by the creators gave me another opinion. It is one deceptive and nice looking move.

Disc 2: Flourishes

I had seen some of them, while some were completely new and refreshing. My favorites out of the DVD were Pandora, Akira and Tectonic Verb. My fingers hate me for choosing those.

I really liked how the performance of each cut was put together like and actual flourish video, with editing and multiple angles.

Disc 3: Everythingelse

This was definitely my favorite disc. Being the move monkey as I am, there was a lot of stuff on this disc that I fell in love with. The Molecule Spring Production is something I would not use in a magic routine, but it is so fun to practice it. Some of the highlights that I will use are Click Change, Jones Change and 360 Deckspin. I will most likely practice most of the stuff on the Everythingelse-disc though, it’s great fun! The Hugh Scott Shuffle is nice and flashy, so I’ll most likely end up doing that too.

Overall though, I give it a 10... out of 5.

Wow! That word can probably sum up the entire set. The DVD packaging is so slick and professional. It’s like you got the special edition of the Lord of the Rings DVD. The Menu for this disc is great, just a list of all the effects. When you click the effect you want, you get a new page with a video box playing a silent performance of the effect, performance button, explanation button, and an Over the Shoulder view button.

The teaching is SUPERB; they go over everything great, plenty of recaps and slow-motion. The camera work was great in each explanation also. The over the shoulder view is great, but there is no speaking in this view. I guess it is mainly used as a tool for clarity after you watch the explanation part.

The picture is great too, so clear and beautiful. And for me, best of all, all of these effects use a normal deck of cards, and that is just what I am looking for! Now most Dan and Dave fans will know most of these effects already but I suggest you watch them anyway because it is wicked awesome.

And I really loved just watching the performances of the effect The Buck’s do the effects so smooth and make them look so good. I was just sitting there mesmerized; even though I knew everything they were doing it was just so beautiful. Bravo Dan and Dave, Bravo!

disc 2_FLOURISHES:

YEAH! Another great disc! I really liked all the cuts on this DVD, they all were wicked cool, and varied in difficulty. Now is this as revolutionary as The System……probably not. But that is because The System came out just when Flourishing was starting out, now more and more people get involved in flourishing and are pushing it further than ever before.

Though I do commend the Bucks on giving us some new concepts and moves, because now it is getting harder and harder to come up with original material, so to me this was refreshing. The Menu again looks great, and when it starts up all these little boxes showing each flourish comes up. Then you click on one, brings up a Performance button, and an Explanation button.

Some times the cuts are a little too big, so you can learn some cuts in “phases” which I thought was great, especially for J5! And then some cuts have variations, which also appear on their little page. The teaching is a lot better. When you click explanation it first goes into an overview of the cut, which is basically the cut in slo-mo, which I guess is for the more experienced flourishers. Then it goes into full on instruction mode, still no speaking though, but little sentence blurbs come up to help you along.

The cut is done in like super slo-mo also, and there are plenty of recaps for each part. Actually that was the only annoying thing about it, you would be in the middle of a move then they go back and do a recap while you are stuck in one position. But I am just being nitpicky Razz . Well done Gents!

disc 3_EVERYTHINGELSE:

This is it people… the end. Do I really need to reiterate on how good this DVD Set is? The Bucks really upped the ante with this one, and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next. *Thunderous Applause for the Bucks*

Many thanks for The Trilogy. It is a true masterpiece and sincere work of art. Well done to you both for resetting the standards and raising the bar, the industry has a lot of catching up to do but will surely struggle in doing so. I love the expression and tone and even the subtle mystery that creeps out of the stylish finish.
