- Years in Magic
My name is Andrew Beneteau I'm a 15 year old canadian cardist and I've been doing magic for almost a year now and I've been flourishing for about 6 months. Magic and cardistry are probably the best hobbies I have ever stumbled upon. I constantly practice with playing cards everyday when I'm not golfing or spending time with my family.
How did you first get started in magic?
By watching a kids tv show called "spellz" when I was about 8 then after a while I gave it up. Then 1 year ago I watched david blaine's street magic special and I got back into it.
Which artists have inspired you the most in your work thus far?
The artists who inspire me so far are David Blaine because he is the one who got me into magic, Zach Meuller because I love his tricks, And finally Mathieu Bich because his effects my favourite effects to perform.
What vision do you see for the future of cardistry?
Really I don't see how cardistry can get anymore advanced unless it becomes a sport (not going to happen) but it would be pretty cool.
How did you first get started in cardistry?
I started cardistry when I found a fancy false cut tutorial on youtube, but the title was "card flourish variation 1" and I had no clue what a "card flourish" was. So I searched up "card flourish" on youtube and I found cardistry videos. After that, I was hooked and wanted to learn cardistry.
