Ringnature was a huge hit of mine at Blackpool 2010. It's first release was on Ed Ellis's Volume 5 "The Castle Routine" DVD and since then I've had many magicians ask for it as a single effect, so now is your chance.

The magician has a spectator sign any selected card and then has the card lost within the deck. At this point, you ask the spectator to borrow their ring and you string it onto a rubber band. The ring and rubber band are wrapped not once, but twice around the entire deck of cards with the ring visibly on top of the pack.

In a split second the ring and rubber band both vanish out of sight. This is the first magical moment. The magician then cuts the deck and out of the middle the spectator sees one card with a band wrapped tightly around it. The card is turned over to be revealed as the signed selection and still holding the ring attached.

The spectator gets to keep the ring, rubber band and signed card as a souvenir!

Ringnature by Ed Ellis ::

Effect :: Ringnature is a cool effect where a borrowed ring vanishes from the top of a deck of cards, that has been wrapped around in rubberbands, and reappears on a selected card.

Price: $4.95

Teaching :: The teaching was very clear and easy to follow along. He covers how to make the necessary gaff, three basic effects you can do with said gaff, and even a way of modifying other, non vintage decks, to use with this concept.

Quality of materials :: As it's an instant download, you don't receive any gaffs but as mentioned above, everything is taught on the video and will cost you nothing at all.

Difficulty :: I was actually surprised at how easy the method was. When watching the demo I was expecting an overly complicated way of wrapping the deck with the band, but after watching the explanation I realized that it was not as difficult as I expected. While it's not something that you're going to be able to do instantly after you watch the video, it won't take you long before you start performing this.

Applications :: What's great about this effect is that it is the perfect transition piece. When I do a walk around gig, I normally perform ring magic, rubberband magic, and card magic. With this effect you can literally go from using this as a finale to your ACR, straight into your rubberband act, and then borrow their ring again for whatever ring routine you normally perform.

Overall Rating :: Overall I really enjoyed this trick. It requires no preshow work, is impromptu, and VERY visual. This is the first time I have ever seen any of Ed's work, and I will definitely be taking a look at his other effects soon. Highly recommended.

You need to ask yourself this question: do you love magic? I know I do, so I look for effects that are personal, fun, visual and basically awesome. That is what Ringature is. It's a rubber band, card, and ring trick all in one with a crazy location! I was able to learn this super quick and even perform it that day. Since I already have rubber bands with me and a deck of cards, all you need is the ring. That is what makes this trick cool! Using a ring to put it all together. Great for that couple you are doing magic for and want a fun and somewhat romantic trick to do. The vanish at the end is pure magic and is all simple to learn! I just cant get enough of this trick right now and it is for sure the trick I'll be showing everyone this week and will be performing regularly! Two words for you, GET THIS TRICK! Well I guess that is three, but who's counting.

This is very neat! Not too hard to pull off and you can be doing it in the same day. It's a great quick location effect, or a closer if you have been doing effects with all three items and want to use this one to tie them all together. The vanish fries people-you'll love it!

So I carry around rubberbands, rings, and decks of cards, so this is definitely the greatest ring/rubberband/deck tricks I ever bought. Using the 3 of them in a single routine is something I really like. Anyways, it's also is easy to learn, but it looks so impossible for the spectators. Buy this right now. You will have a great trick and a worker and a fun routine to perform.

I got this some days ago...and I must say that, this is a worker. Since I usually use rings and rubberbands in my repertoire, using the 3 of them in conjunction is awesome!! I must say this is a great trick and it really looks imposible...for an easy trick to learn, get it now!

I added this effect to my repertoire as soon as I could. It's quick, it's easy, and best of all; it's extremely magical. If you're like me and have a deck of cards on yourself at all times for a seemingly impromptu performance, than this is the trick for you. I normally don't like tricks that require additional props. . . But seeing how it would seem natural to perform with a rubber band that's on your wrist or a ring on your finger while already performing with cards, just makes it look more magical because it looks like you can do magic with anything that is available.

One more thing is that I'm very big on getting more people involved with a trick. The more audience participation the better. This trick gets 3 spectators involved, 1 to examine the ring, another the rubber band, and one to pick the card and sign. For a trick like this, you couldn't ask for anything more. This is one purchase that you'll be happy you bought.

Nice quick effect, like the idea of using a spectators ring to give it a more personal touch.

I perform this at least every other weekend at a gig and it fries layman. It is an AWESOME routine that leaves a great souvenir. I normally let them keep the signed card, rubber band, and of course their own ring.

Practice with it and you'll have it down in no time. You can even use other objects for cover like a silk, napkin, the card box, etc.
