Years in Magic

Hello, I am a magician/ creator from Illinois. I have been studying the art of magic for 10 odd years now. My influences are John Cornelius, Michael Ammar, Juan Tamariz as well as Paul Harris. I mostly look for an impromptu way of doing hard hitting effects. My main forte is cards.

How often do you practice - how do you keep your skills (and mind) sharp?

I really don't practice, I find inspiration through many different outlets. Like movies, or nature or my family.

If you could have dinner with any magician, past or present, who would that be and why?

I would pick John Cornelius. He is a major influence in my thinking and style of magic. His way of thinking about effects is the most creative I have ever seen. A true magician.

What is your creative process - how do you come up with new effects and ideas?

It can strike at anytime. Late at night or early in the morning. I just put the idea in my head first and slowly think about several different methods for the effect. I think of the effect first, than a method. I also take a step back and ask myself, "what would I like to see, what would blow my mind"? and than take it from there.

Which artists have inspired you the most in your work thus far?

Steve Dushek, Paul Harris, Michael Ammar but over all John Cornelius ..hands down! His way of thinking is so out side of the box its incredible. I wish he would come back to the magic scene and blow us all away.
