Most of those are older songs and have a heavy funk attitude about them. They are really good but you have to appreciate their funk heritage. In addition get the DVD's: RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS LIVE AT SLANE CASTLE and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS LIVE IN JAPAN.
Also, the book "Give It Away" tells the stories of al their songs up until the "By The Way album.
