The Jones Change

I started learning the jones change and I've come to the change part, and I realized, that when you show the double, do the change, it's still the same card. That's how I understood the tutorial. Anyone pm me if you want a better explanation for my problem.

Are you learning it from the trilogy? Cause D&D taught it wrong on that but they corrected themselves and released the real method for free.
