Joining the IBM rings... ect.

Hey!, I have noticed i have 2 I.B.M rings around my city and would like to join them. The closest one is A " Doug Henning magic wand club" i think its ring 49 . There is also a Youth magic club where you can perform and craft. I am not new to magic, but just thought of joining the club to improve my magic and get better to. It says i have to join the I.B.M first. It would be an amazing expiriance to go to conventions, see lectures ect.

Any body like to share there expiriances joining your local rings? how old you were when you joined? ect.

If you're under 18 I think you HAVE to join the youth one. At least for mine, I think.

joined at 16. Stopped being a member after 2 years since I was away at college and don't have the extra money. It is a great way to meet other magicians and be informed of lectures coming to town, most of which you will see for free because your a member. In addition they can help you start performing because they almost all have annual banquets or close up shows where you can get the word out about your mad skillz. Plus you get the linking ring which is a great magic magazine. Also, if you get to go to an IBM convention it will be the best convention you ever go to. I would love to go again.
