Who got you started in magic?

My uncle got me hooked when he showed me how to do a french drop and then he gave me a magic kit for christmas when I was 9

I don't usually post, but I do feel this is a thread worth putting my 2 cents into (which I hope doesn't end up being a change for $20)

We were bored of playing wow one day, so we were looking up youtube videos and my friend showed me his favorite magician, Cyril Takayama and an act with a cigarette. > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Deo8X6iVMf0 <

Magic became the topic of the night.

I watched an ambitious card done by Cyril > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2y5AiKkScs < and I was absolutely hooked on to magic. Shame on me, but I youtubed how to do this trick and found out how. I was decently satisfied at that time, but the more card tricks I looked up the more fascinated I became with the subject. Next thing you know, I goggled where to start learning magic and landed on the website we all know as E. I got the crash courses, shortly thereafter I found T11.

Ricky Jay

Ricky Jay is the one that inspired me to start learning magic. He is an amazing performer and is technically one of the best. His shows are so much more than just sleight of hand.
