Is there a better way to say "pick a card."

Without actually saying and without making it look like the cliched line. All I can think of it either "Think of a card." "Name a card." "Touch a card." or whatever else. Tho even if you spread the cards it can look tired and lame. There has to be a non cliched, interesting way of saying that time old line. Without making yourself look like the typical magician.

Forgot to mention that there are performers who are able to say the exact line without looking stupid or lame. I know Bill Malone might do it while having a card stick out as a joke. I can't think how Vernon or anybody else would do it tho. I remember Steerpike mentioning that Eugene Burger is able to pull it off decently enough, but that's mainly due to his tone of voice and character.

I know what you mean. I usually end up saying "grab one" as I spread the cards most of the time.

Whats wrong with "Pick a card"?
its awesome

"pick a card"
"oh. youre a magician?"
"yea... duh..."
"here. Have a million dollars."
AWESOME

how bout....
"card a pick. now read that backwards"
Spread the cards and stare at them till they do something
"Grab a card or I will kill you in your sleep"
"In a typical magic trick, a magician will say pick a card. So please. pick a card."
"woof im a dog who needs a card picked"

yea im just messing around
anyways.
Whats wrong with the cliche line?
I usually do a dribble instead of spread so they say stop instead of grabbing one.
ah well

Whats wrong with stereotypes?
Magician stereotypes = the image of the best magicians ever.

I remember a while back

"Pick a card"
"Oh. ive seen this trick"
5 minutes later
"OMG! WHAT?????"

awesome..

I usually hand them the pack and casually say: "Go ahead and just take one." You can shuffle it if you want." It emphasizes the selection being completely fair.

I quite often say something like "I'm sure you know, it's the law of the Magic Circle that every magician has to start a trick like this. Pick a card, any card..."
