What new card DVDs/books to buy?

If you've never read Royal Road to Card Magic or Card College, start with those. They're beginners books that will teach experts.

Something like Vernon's Inner Card Trilogy, Jack Parker's 52 Memories, yes Aaron Fisher's The Paper Engine, are all great card magic books.

Please buy and read The Expert at the Card Table (it's a short book), and also Royal Road to Card Magic and Card College 1-5.

Just get Royal Road and a couple volumes of Easy to Master Card Miracles. You'll have more than enough material from that point on.
