The answer to your question is easier than you think! Just ask yourself whether you want to make a deck dissappear or change a card visually?

For your specific question concerning quality and difficulty: If you are not satisfied with the quality, you can give it back. Take a look at this guarantee.

If the trick should be to difficult for you: Practise it! Or do not perform it and come back to it when your skill is more advanced.

Sorry for my direct words but I am really angry about these kind of questions. Do you really expect an answer which is of real use for you? The decision for buying an effect has to come out of yourself. What do you want to do and more important WHY do you want to do this effect? Then do some research, check out different solutions, try them (even if you have to buy four or five different versions or better: books) and decide which one suits your style most. Then work on it and make it your own.

Panic and Distortion are both fantastic effects. The gimmick for Distortion is fragile, but if you take care of it, it should last a while. The Panic gimmick, conversely, is more sturdy, but which effect is better depends on one's preferences. Panic and Distortion don't require complex moves, though, in my opinion, Distortion is harder than Panic. Everything you need to know for each effect is taught well in the provided DVD.

Well when it comes down to what is more visually pleasing, distortion takes first. Don't get me wrong though, the concept and gimmick for Panic! is great too, but when it comes to what is more impossible in doing, Wayne's effect is better. I own both effects and love them, so I really don't want to debate on which is the best. I am basically stating that I like both effects, but telling which is more visual than the other. ;)

Your best bet would probably be getting an effect you'll have no problem performing. I am bad with telling people what to get, but when it comes to the two I recommend you actually get Panic!

I own both and personally i enjoy showing panic more. I think it has a greater effect. I'm not hating on distortion i think that trick is great too. I just think it relys more on what kind of effect you want to present.
