Anything by Jeff Long is killer. He wrote The Descent (same title, and very similar plot to the movie, but they aren't the same) and Year Zero. Both excellent books.
The Harry Potter series is good.
Lord of The Rings (duh)
I like alot of the old sci-fi books from the 30's, 40's and 50's.

Well, I'll try to keep this magic related. After all, this is a magic forum. ;)

// "Absolute Magic" by Derren Brown
// "Pure Effect" by Derren Brown
// The "Art of Astonishment" Series by Paul Harris
// "Psychological Subtleties" by Banachek
// "Mysterious Stranger" by David Blaine

...just to name a few.

Would "sock" By penn Jilette count?
Or how about "Cruel tricks for dear friends"?

My favorite books are:

Harry Potter Franchise by J.K. Rowling (all time favorites....love them)
Save Me From Myself by Brian "Head" Welch (former Korn lead-guitarist)
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
Mindfreak: Secret Revelations by Criss Angel (I thought it was an interesting read)
I Am Legend by Richard Matheson (amazing, amazing book, movie comes out December)
The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson
13 Steps to Mentalism by Tony Corinda (the meca!!!)

I'm pretty much always reading a book. I'm also a HUGE comic book fan. I love the Daredevil comics. Amazing.

Currently reading "Sleight of Mind" by Ian Harling and Martin Nyrup. I just got it in the mail today so I'm not that far in it yet, but it's pretty sweet already.

The package it was mailed in was stamped "Top Secret," which made me feel special. Do they do this for all magic-related publications?

I just received the book 5 x 5 Japan and I have to say that the magic in this book is absolutely amazing. The effects that are taught in this book are extraordinary and the card transport is worth the book all together. Great book and I have to say it's a must for anyone.
