Less then one week ago, we released the final teaser video along with full details on an upcoming project from Eric Ross entitled CRUSH. Imagine having the ability to cause any bottle to collapse on command... even while being held by your spectator. Understandably, many of you had questions on what looks and sounds like a true miracle. Tonight, you'll get your answers.

Tonight's event is a discussion with the man himself - your chance to ask Eric ANY question you wish. What do you want to know? What do you need to know? Whether you have a question on innovation in magic, the creative process, or the development of Eric's latest effect CRUSH - ALL questions are fair game. We will select as many questions as possible to answer in a podcast posted later tonight.

Limit of THREE questions per member, so choose your questions wisely and make 'em count. Questions must be posted in THIS forum thread on or before 10:00pm EST. Podcast will be posted at 11:00pm EST.

Crush will be released this Wednesday, but the full preview video goes up on MONDAY night. Trust me, this one is worth staying up for. I promise.

PRIZE: one random member whose question is asked in the podcast tonight will receive a copy of CRUSH upon its release, sent on the house. Note that questions requesting details of method or technique will not be accepted in order to protect the secret behind this effect.

UPDATE: Podcast has been posted! Eric was very sick tonight and we almost had to cancel less than an hour ago - but he was a trooper and make it happen. We answered as many questions as we could - covering details on Crush, practicality of Crush, the creative process, his roots in magic, and much more. Listen to the MP3 by clicking HERE directly.

What is the most magical thing you've ever experienced? Does not have to be a performance of actual magic, could be the Grand Canyon, for example.

Was there an effect you based Crush on?
Can the bottle be crushed no matter where it is (excluding nonsense places like fire, but maybe floating in water)?
Is the bottle or can open or closed when performing?

How long have you been working on Crush?

When you first thought of it did you think of the method or the actual effect 1st?

What made you want to release such a brilliant effect?

1. Where do you get ideas to spark your creativity? Do they come to you or do you look at an object and say how could i use this to make a miracle? You have some creative stuff and it looks like CRUSH will be crazy!

1. Can "Crush" be applied to other objects other than a bottle?

2. How long did you hold onto this effect before deciding to part from it?

3. Something like "Crush" seems like it will almost always garner a strong reaction. Do you prefer the silent visceral reactions or the more outward verbalized reactions?

Question #1: When creating new effects, what kind of research do you do to insure that the effect is original, marketable, practical, and the intellectual property isn't already owned by someone else? Further, what methods do you use to conduct your research?

Question #2: What is the best method for determining how much to charge for an original product, and is that an element you have any control over?

Question #3: What is the ratio of bad, good, and so-so ideas you have to solid marketable and profitable ones?

1.If you could give one piece of advice for creating magic effects for every magician in the world what would it be?

2.How did you get the idea for Crush?

3.Can Crush be done impromptu with a borrowed bottle?

how many different versions of crush did you have to go thru till you got the result you have.
and are you truly happy with this result, or do u feel it could be better.

what is your favorite effect to perform

do you feel that when creating, many magicians are put in this mindset that we should always create new materials, and that as soon as many new magicians are introduced into magic they feel they need to create.
do you believe that there is a certain point where magicians should start to create, or do you believe that creations just come about and are not a planned thing.

hey Eric,

1. Where do you derive your inspiration for the magic and illusions you create and perform

2. i know that you released a project with Kevin Parker (CanFuse)a while back. Do you think its better to work with someone on an Project (method and/or Technique) or keep it closer to yourself until you feel its ready?

3. Obviously you've made a big name for yourself in the magic community, if i'm not mistaken for your creative style, so what do you enjoy more, Performing or creating, and why?
