whenever i do a one handed fan, my base of the thumb doesn't allow few cards (about 7) in the middle to spread compared to rest of the fan (quite frustrating ) , any tips on how to overcome that!?!

P.S. (what does P.S.mean) my deck is fairly old

In my experience in learning the one-handed fan (I don't even know if I do it correctly), the key is to really press down on the cards with your thumb as you fan them.
But I'm not sure if that's related to your problem. Could you upload a picture of your one-handed fan to show what issues you're having?
Also (this one I know for sure), "P.S." is short for "postscript," which is basically an afterthought—something that you want to add after the main part of your text.

Hm. Well, I'd suggest doing something like changing the position of your index finger at the beginning of the fan, and using it to spread out those cards. Hope that helps.

This used to happen to me as well, but I just kept practicing it and before I knew it, my fan spread more evenly without me consciously trying to change anything.
