Cardistry advice/opinions

Hey Guys

So I recently bought Genesis V1 and have been practicing the basics from it (As Im fairly New to Cardistry)

I was just wondering, how long did it take you guys to become proficient at the Thumb cut and the Scissor cut? They are in the basics section but its taking me ages to learn and get good at these.
I dont have the largest hands in the world, but I can kind of execute these two moves to some extent.

As Andrei says on Genesis V1, the first moves that you learn will put your patience and will to the limit! Don't worry about the time it's taking you, since you are new to cardistry it's completely normal that it seems like forever to get the moves properly, it happens all the time when trying out new moves; the important thing is to keep practicing as much as you can and it will become natural for you! try to practice for three or four hours a day and I promise you'll be surprised with your progress!

Also, when you practice...do you learn the move well on your better hand, then try learn on your other hand or what?
