Hi all,

I am working with http://magicianlist.net a classifieds website that allows you to buy, sell or trade magic without fees.

No fees? Got that right, no fees to publish an item and certainly not any fees to view or buy the items. Just register your free account to start adding your listings.

Share this information with your friends, your local chapter and through facebook, twitter and other social media. The more people who knows, the more products that will be available.

Do you make your own products? Come and publish them at our site and wallpaper the world with the link! You sell your product, you make your profit, we are all happy!

If you want to receive their newsletter, send an email with the subject newsletter to: magic@magicianlist.net

Thanks Craig, that's exactly the idea, as magicians we are very curious and normally our collections start to build.

magicianlist.net is a marketplace that allows us to buy or sell those magic tricks, books, original DVD's, illusions and more without fees.

thanks for creating your account, start posting and selling whenever you want.

Domingo from the http://magicianlist.net team.

Great idea but there's no mention of area. U.S, Europe, Asia etc...would be good. I personally wouldn't mind paying a small one off fee or yearly membership if it was made in to a good, trusted marketplace that catered for my area of the world.

I believe a limited (10% max) service fee for items sold would be logical as well as acceptable; we are looking at a thing that can turn into a huge headache -- FAST!

I'd even suggest that said % be split in a way that has the seller and buyer each paying equal amounts. With my 10% example, either party would pay a 5% service fee. Too, it would have to be made very clear that the buyer pays the shipping on all items.

I would have to second Formula's thought when it comes to regions and even subdivisions such as states & provinces such as we deal with in North America. Another thought is to link to the U.S. Post Office, UPS, etc. so that shipping rates can be easily calculated on site for rates to & from specific zip codes. I'm not certain how you could generalize this so that things tally on a single shopping cart (which wouldn't be a bad move vs. direct contact . . . sorry, but I'm a bit concerned over I.D. theft and other issues when it comes to such).

It's a great idea but in hind-sight, I think there are a few more elements you need to put into place sooner than later for the sake of client security as well as personal sanity.

That's why I suggested a joining fee or yearly subscription. I like to think paying out a bit of money just to join would help weed out anyone that would potentially create a headache. Ultimately I just think a slick and efficient marketplace (which is what the fee would pay for) with no responsibility from the makers would be a good addition to the magic world.

Hi Formula and Craig,

we will implement area coding in the profiles that will automatically show in the posts for easier reference as well as the ability to search for items by area.

we will let you know once it has been implemented.

thanks for your input, that's how we can make it better for us and for all magicians.

thanks,

D.

hi All,

after a short Hiatus, we have implemented a couple changes to http://magicianlist.net.

we were researching creating a new system with most of Formula & Craig's request, but that will take longer to achieve. Meanwhile, we added a "Country" field to users and posts, that way you can see in which country a product is right from the category list. it was also added in the search form, so that magicians can search for products in an specific area.

please visit http://magicianlist.net to see this changes and all the products that have been added. something like this works only if we all post our new or used products.

thanks,

Domingo from the http://magicianlist.net team.
