Hope everyone is having a good weekend! This week's contest is directly inspired by one of the newest releases on The Wire - INSTINCT by Alexander Ward and Myke Phillips. Instinct totally fooled us when it was submitted, and once we learned the method - we loved it even more. It's outstanding.

The challenge is simple, direct, and with one goal in mind: fool us. The challenge this week to is to make a video demonstrating ANY magic effect you desire - but the goal, and the contest, is who can fool US - the judging panel - the most.

The rules: you have 24 hours to make your video, demonstrating your effect. Videos must be uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo and posted in response to this forum thread on or before 7:30pm EST tomorrow, Sunday, May 25th.

Specifics: your effect does NOT have to be practical. It could be something that only works once, when the stars are aligned and at the most narrow camera angle imaginable. But it does have to be REAL, with no video editing or anything of that sort. What the camera sees should be faithful to the human eye.

The winner this week will take home 1,000 Elite Member Points and 6 Decks of Mystery Box Playing Cards! The winner will be decided by our judging panel on which video, overall, leaves us the most speechless. The most deceptive, in our eyes and best judgment.

Go for it - get to it and this week, you just might fool us!

I was about to throw in a redbox DVD when I saw this contest, and brainstormed to come up with this visual quickie. Unlike the other entries so far, I literally came up with this 100% after seeing the theory11 post on Facebook (so hopefully that earns some points in the judging hint hint) ;)

It's nothing mind-blowing, but I think it's pretty clever for just something quickly off the top of my head. Hope you enjoy!

Hey guys, just to clarify, no one's account was hacked. One user (who will be identified, and reported) thought it would be funny to create forum accounts VERY similar to our official forum accounts. For example, instead of "John Smith" he'd create one called "John.Smith" (with a period instead of a space). All of those fake accounts have been banned, and those messages have been removed from this thread.

Sorry for the distraction - keep those submissions coming!

my entry

Here is my entry, it's imprumptu, the spectator can cut and shuffle the cards at any moment as showed on the video. I tried to make the cut and shuffle as clear as possible because of the bad quality that's why they seem unprofessional. I still hope you will like the idea wich is the easiest trick in the world.
Also it's my creation, I hope it doesn't already exists.
