Tripod recommendations

I've finally caved in. The projects I want to do cannot be done with my improvised boxes-and-Lego tripod system I have going. I want to create a tutorial for the Wire and I'm shopping around for tripods; mainly because I will not have any assistance to help me get the shots I need.

For you video veterans: what tripods do you recommend? Any reliable brands?

Also, what smartphone adapters are sure fire bets?

Tripod

Manfrotto and Davis & Sanford both produce great reliable tripods but are a bit expensive. I would suggest to get a tripod from the B&H Website. Also, the camera, lighting, scripting, and all of that goes into making a great video.
