Magic Hat and Jacket

Does anyone know where I can find ideas or instructions on gaffing a magic hat. Not buy a hat, but take an existing hat and add a secret 'rabbit holder' or the like?

Also I do recall seeing some ideas on altering a jacket for a performing magician. Again, instructions or ideas of 'how to' and as always I am welling to pay for the information.

All ideas and help appreciated...

What are your intentions with the hat? The majority of hat's with compartments are currently used as gags, however, if you are looking to produce objects I can link you to sources not requiring a gimmicked hat.

Regarding the suit coat, I have the templates in which you could take to a local tailor if you are inclined. Just let me know, my brother.

Respectfully yours,

This might be of some help:https://www.conjuringarchive.com/list/category/1882

It looks like a lot of it is in Professor Hoffman's work -- Modern Magic, More Magic and Later Magic -- and Tarbell (especially related to producing a rabbit from a hat). My recollection is that the hat isn't gaffed in most of those productions.

For a suit coat, you are talking about a topit: http://store.ammarmagic.com/nsearch.html?query=topit

If you need it done for you, Lynette Welch is the best: http://www.fabricmanipulation.com/magictricks/products/Topit_Custom_Installed-8-4.html

Thanks to both for your reply's. I do strictly children's magic shows, so far just my Grandkids. Hoping in time to have a show that I feel can be done at local hospitals, boys clubs, etc. I know some tricks that I could do with 'slight of hand' but I also want a hat that provides other options! The links above for hats and suit coats will probably get me started...again thanks...

Mr. Braxton, I will contact you on PM if I need further ideas. Thank you for the offer of support. You all are great professionals.....!
