Lets say that I am performing an I am trying to force a card.
What do I do if I make a mistake during my force and they choose a card that I didn't intend them to pick?
How do I continue on from that point?

Do a different effect that doesn't require the card to be forced.
Learn a memorized deck so you can know the identity of the card they picked
Learn some glimpses that you can use returning the card to the deck
Control the card to bottom and glimpse
Use a key card to track their card and then, after doing a series of cuts, spread the deck to show it is mixed up and determine their card

Do a classic force with every card trick you do.
Most tricks you don't need it, but it gives you lots of practice with very little pressure.
Then if you hit it, go ahead and do the trick that needs it, otherwise stick with the original plan.

I’ve never thought about doing that. That is an awesome idea!
