Hey!

I am planning to write a magic trick book for children from 5 to 9 years old.
I want to do it right.

But I have a question about copyrights:
Is it allowed to teach magic that isn't mine? Can I teach tricks like force a card, french drop, some fake shuffles, fake transfers etc. All the tricks that you learn when you start your career.

And where can I get permission to teach these classic magic moves?

I am going to write it in my language for my country.

Thank you!

Yes, but the magic you teach either has to be in the public domain or you need the creator's permission.

Yes, but as I wrote above the tricks need to be in the public domain or you have received permission from the tricks creator. The french drop is in the public domain and you can teach it. If you could name the force, fake shuffles, fake transfers etc. you plan on teaching someone would be able tell you whether or not you need permission.

And where can I get permission to teach these classic magic moves?

If the classic magic moves are in the public domain, you don't need permission. Otherwise you need permission from the creator.
