Hello
I have made a card trick which all it consist of is a combination of already well-known moves without adding anything new or any invention. it's like an arrangement of moves to create a working trick.
So, is it ok to publish it to sell or publish it for free instead? Or it would not even make it as a free listing?
Thank you

I don't see anything wrong with it, as long as your using classic moves/principles and not those currently sold by magicians today. If you think about it a lot of magicians put out their own take of classic effects or create new effects with classic methods. As long as your not stealing someone else's material you'll be fine. You can even publish it on the market place here at Theory11.

Why would you release something that doesn't add anything new to what's already out there?

The only thing new is arrangement. Lloyd Barnes “created” Restored and theory11 approved it for sale on the Marketplace.

Yeah it is next to impossible to create something completely new or groundbreaking. Very rarely does that ever happen. Most of what is released these days are variations or improvements made to other routines or ideas. He may not be using groundbreaking moves, but his routine idea may solve an issue with some other method that creates a similar effect. How many ambitious card routine are out there? Each with their own unique variations and moves.
