Something interesting about the Brown Wynn Decks

That someone was theory11.
Not sure what's up with the conspiracy theories, but, just to clarify, that someone was not theory11:
Just to clarify, I'm not sure where the 3,000 number came from-- not any of Katie's posts. There were certainly more than 3,000 Jerry's printed initially, and the Wynn definitely printed more than 3,000 of each color of the Wynn Decks.

The brown decks, however, are the most rare by a multiple of 10-- and are completely different in feel and finish than the red and the blues (in a good way). They handle perfectly.

We do only have a limited supply, so we definitely will run out soon-- but we'll of course stay on the lookout for more.
Cheers,
JTM

JTM, I don't know where you got that post, but I know that the red/blue wynns have a much better feel and finish than brown wynns.

"We think the red and blue are a closer mirror to Jerry’s because of the same color schemes and the “Bee” feel. Either way any of these decks will become collectable. Also to dispel the rumor that there were only 3,000 brown Wynn decks available. In a recent visit to USPC (their factory is very close to us) there were still 49 cases of 144 decks (over 7,000 decks)."

Read that: We can't get any brown decks so...... They're not as good as what we can get. This seller is good and has a good reputation but sour grapes are sour grapes.

Most of you card experts know when smoke is blown in your ear about card quality.

This never said that they were "reproduced" just that there were a certain quantity available.....No one ever said how many were available. I don't understand why this is such a big deal....Plus, this seller was selling red and blue wynns. Why was there even a mention of the other color......I don't get it. I guess its just something to talk about.

Less gossip please and more magic

I do not understand you.
We are in a forum of magic and not in one of collectors
Who cares that 1 million brown decks exist, does not matter For me

Its created such a buzz because for some reason Wynn's are to Theory 11 as Shadow Masters are to Ellusionist.
This thread shouldn't be here for much longer, I hope.

Sorry, but I could have sworn that I read a ost by Dana saying there was 3000. Probably got confused.
But the info this guy said about the cards is probably just a hoax.
Who knows for sure. The browns are a mystery, but the red and blue, I heard by the bucks that there still are thousands on hold.

Guys,

Wow. Lots of rumors. Just to clear some things up, no one from theory11 has ever claimed that there are only 3,000 decks. I'm not really sure where that even came from. None were reproduced or reprinted-- certainly none of the ones we have offered on theory11. The Wynn now uses completely different cards. Tons of alleged numbers were posted by members, which we have replied to and addressed as much as possible to keep the hearsay to a minimum, and facts to the forefront. In hopes of alleviating some of the confusion, here are the facts again:

Wynn Decks were made to be used in the Wynn casino-- not collected. Thousands of each color were produced. There are exponentially more red and blue Wynn's in existence than Brown's; hence the fact that the red and blues are now sold on countless websites, stores, and in Gambler's General. The rarity of the Brown's, coupled with the fact that we just plain liked the handling, feel, and fanning more than the Red and Blues, were the sole reasons that we chose to sell them and continue to love them.

As far as the Red and Blues fanning better-- in all of our testing, we have found nothing but the opposite. Red and Blues are printed on an entirely different stock, feel, and finish than the Brown's, and it shows. I've got one deck of each on my desk, and all have been used for about a week. Guess which one still fans flawlessly... the Brown Wynn's. You don't have to take my word for it-- I'd encourage anyone to get a deck of each and compare and contrast. To each his own, and whichever deck you like the best-- go for. Not everyone is going to prefer the brown decks, but I have a feeling that the difference will surprise some of you.

For flourishing, the red and blues are great-- they have a crispness to them and hold together extremely well in cuts, Sybil's, etc. But as a site that focuses just as much on magic as it does on flourishing, we went for what no one else had, and we went for what our team liked the best. We hope you like them as well.

Yeah I cant remember seeing any Theory11 Staff post about the numbers, and im on here a hell of a lot. Though I really could have sworn on a lot of cash that Katie may have mentioned a number fairly close to 3000, but in saying that im sure she would have been corrected, and apologized. And she would not have confirmed the number. It may have even been 'We have around 3000 Decks' (Theory11)

Anyways, I got my Brick today, and they feel and look incredible, and would recommend them to anyone. Jon, and the rest have not 'done us wrong' as some seem to think. Thanks once again T11 guys.

And apologies to Katie for 'targetting' you in this post, by no means did I intend to, and think your a fantastic part of this site.

If I paid $50 for this deck, would I be annoyed about rarity? Probably. For the $5 (An expensive, but still reasonable price for a deck of good cards) I couldn't care less about how rare they are. Do you really expect that something would be $5 if it was THAT rare? Less crying, more playing with Brown Wynns :D
