i know they are two completely different things, for different pourposes... but which is better? which do you all use more often? and for what?

You mean Classic Palm vs. Angle Palms?
I seldom palm nowadays, but I personally prefer Angle Palms (Tenkai, Lateral, Lateral Tenkai and Gamblers Cop[not sure if it is counted as an Angle Palm]) while sitting, and Classic while standing. To me, Classic Palm hanging at the side is more natural than having a card in Tenkai. Of course, you should avoid palming for extended period, but you got my point.

Invented by Tenkai (real name Teijiro Ishida), this palm is easily seen from certain angles, but, it can allow a much more natural appearance for the magician's hand. Additionally, the Tenkai allows much more freedom in the way of palming and revealing. Which is better? That's for the individual to decide. I'm sure it's debatable, and I won't say... BTW, as 2ndDeal says I seldom palm either and if I do; I use the classic palm (side steal) or a variation of the gambler's cop.

I ALWAYS use the GAMBLER COP thanks to DANIEL MADISON for inspiring me to learn it and do it well, and Larry Jennings because I learned it from a vid from him =).. BTW the dvd is thought on cards I think, not 100% sure..

I don't like Tenkai at all, but I love the Gambler's Cop and the Classic Palm. I use the Classic Palm more, for stuff like Card to Pocket, ditching cards, etc.

I don't really use palms that much. But I think that a classic palm and tenkai really depend on the size of your hands. That is in my opinion but I don't really use palms like I said...so yeah.

The size of your hands DOES NOT matter whatsoever to palming cards!! This has been drilled into me by many different magicians when they hear me complain about my small hands. And I thank them for it... I wouldn't be doing Revolution Cuts if not for them! I was told a story once about a magician who's hands were so small that when he classic palmed a card, nearly 1/4 of it would be sticking out... Spectators didn't notice because his patter was AMAZING!

When going into any type of palm... The card has to go SOMEWHERE... And it has to go SOMEWHERE pretty soon, because your motions become limited and there is only a certain time gap before spectators start to suspect something. Tenkai and Classic have different applications. I prefer Classic because it has more variations and more uses when standing up. "Lateral Palming is the way to go..." as I remember Lennart Green saying in one of his videos... Agreed... But you need the practice. And it's better for table-work.

Jkdragon you are very right!!! because palming also has do do with misdirection, they wont see the card because they will probably looking at your other hand if you are misdirection, and since there looking at your other hand in their peripheral vision they will see an empty hand, but I think palming is beter, tenkai is used more for vanishes and stuff, palming is used for tricks and routines

That man was Max Malini a sleight of hand specialist and the inspiration of many card handlers today.

I myself enjoy using the rear palm. Handing the deck to the spectator to shuffle or hold while simultaneously showing my fingers open and palming their card is a pretty valuable sleight.

I know I'm chiming in 9 years after the fact, but this is so true: I play and teach guitar as well, and I'd be rich today if I had a dime for every time I've heard someone say that their hands aren't right for guitar playing: too big, too small, stubby fingers, or some other reason. If they say their hands are too big, I like to show them clips of Andres Segovia, the father of classical guitar, whose hands were so big it looked like he was wearing asbestos gloves, especially as he got older. Then I follow it up with a nice "You were saying..?"

I've found that learning magic techniques is very much like learning to play an instrument, and that a person's frustration (including mine when I was learning) with the difficulty of learning basic techniques often expresses itself as the certainty that one's hands just aren't right somehow. Considering that there are magicians out there who literally have no hands, that argument doesn't hold any water. Where there's a will there's a way.

You should be practicing every palm you come across. I do Tenkai, Classic, and the cop when I perform. Sticking to strictly one is foolish
