What Are You All Going To Do With Magic?
What makes you want to get up from bed every morning and practice?
I Know a lot of you are from the ages of 10-20, so I ask again, What Are You All Going To Do With Magic?
Is it just a hobby?
Is it just something you want to do in the free time?
Or do you want to take magic further in your life and maybe open your own magic shop when you get older,
Or get paid for entertaining kids,
Adults,
Old people.

I surely want to excel with magic and work at a magic shop, maybe as a second job in the free time or what not....

Thanks for your time,
Brian

What are you all going to do with magic?
To be honest... I don't know... maybe get a side job in a few years, but really I just do magic as a hobby.

Is it just a hobby?
Currently yes.

Well magic is what I do in my free time. Instead of playing games like Halo, I practice magic. If magic takes me into gaining money, why fight it?

I do magic because I love astonishing people. It's as simple as that. What have things such as video games gotten me? It makes me feel accomplished when I complete something and it is fun to play them when I'm with friends. However, nothing is real. Magic on the other hand teaches me people skills. It teaches me patience. Also... what drives us are the reactions. Practice is an annoyance. However, just seeing that look of astonishment on a spectator's face makes it all worth while. I don't really know why I do magic or how I am this dedicated to it, but I don't plan on quitting anytime soon. Why quit magic? I have gained quite a few friendships from it. I have opened up my personality a lot. I have faced my fears. Magic is more to me than just taking out a deck of cards and doing something cool for my friends. It's way deeper than that. I don't plan to ever stop doing magic and I hope it does take me far.

Magic is an art that is great at first, however, people give up once they realize that there are many effects that take practice. Once you get passed the stage where you realize you have to work at it, things come easier. (I'm not there yet...) I have learned so much these past few months. I have done things I never thought I could. I even performed Sinful accidentally for about 125 people 2 years ago. (PM me if you wanna read that story.) I fooled everyone. It's a wonderful feeling. Magic has become part of me. :)

Wanna go Pro

I've only been doing magic for less than a year, but i have in that year gotten a fulltime job working as the main magician at my local magic shop, done a couple or bday parties(which i hated) and taken a job from a guy that had been doing magic for 25+years in a restaurant (not on purpose im not an a$shole they just liked me better b/c my presentation and audience involvement was better) I have every intention of doing something with it. Im in college right not at George Mason University and am currently trying to break into the restaurant business (the job i took off of the other magician i had to give back when school started up). I practice for at least 4 hours everyday because i love magic but also because i want to do something with it. i dont think that i would put in as much work if i didnt.

i was always interested in magic as a small child, and kind of grew out of it, or rather i stopped having a magical influence, so i moved on to other things, but now i'm 18 and i started working with mow one of my best friends who does magic and we have become partners and started doing some gigs. we accidentilly got a steady job at ihops in our area and are negotiating working at ruby's and applebee's. all of this just kinda happened in the last few months and i've been loving it. for me magic is a combination of everything i like, presentation and acting, a nice way to meet people, and something to do with my hands-because they always get figity, i have to be doing something with my hands so its really easy to just get a deck of cards and start practicing.

it has become a great hobby and the "fun job" and is something i definately won't stop anytime soon, and if it takes me somewhere someday, great, if not, it was still awsome and somethign i really enjoy.

At first, it was just a hobby, my parents gave me a book on magic on my 11th birthday... hobby turned into job when I started working at a casino.

What makes you want to get up from bed every morning and practice?
Practicing always gets me motivated to learn new techniques and tricks.. can't do the same ol' tricks over and over again.

I Know a lot of you are from the ages of 10-20, so I ask again, What Are You All Going To Do With Magic?
I'm 28 now so magic has been with me for 17 years.. I currently work at the Hard Rock Casino doing magic.

Is it just a hobby?
Not anymore

Is it just something you want to do in the free time?
Yes and I get paid at times as well

Or do you want to take magic further in your life and maybe open your own magic shop when you get older

You work full-time at the magic shop and also go to school full-time your pretty busy guy, which shop do you work at?

Make all the people I hate dissappear! Hahah just kidding, I'm going to be using it my whole life for countless things. Especially turning the one's in my pocket to 100's, I'm never going to have to worry about money again haha.

What makes you want to get up from bed every morning and practice?
The pride in knowing that I can do something few people can do, making people question thier world and everything they believe to know is true, and the reactions.

I Know a lot of you are from the ages of 10-20, so I ask again, What Are You All Going To Do With Magic?

Right now it's just a hobby, but who knows, it could very possibly turn into something bigger than that. Funny thing, earlier I was at the YMCA for tennis practice ('cause it's too cold outside), and saw my Cross Country coach. I walked over, started talking to him, and we got on the subject of if I had performed for the tennis team yet. He said that if I did, he was sure they would like it as much as they did. I honestly didn't know that he liked my magic that much, as he didn't really show much interest in it. There's not really a point to that story, but it just goes to show that even though you may not realize it at the time, and they may never show it, but your magic does leave an impact on people!

I want to do magic at restaurants as a side job while I'm in college. I always wanted to have a magic shop, but that may not happen for a while. :D
