    Breaking the Language Barrier

When I was in Honduras, I found I was able to use most of the material from Wilson's On the Spot, coin work, and most of my card material. Simply avoid complicated plots and effects that take a lot of explaining or make use of verbal cues (like 2 card monte for example) I'm sure you will have...

    Theory11 Points

Winning contests and publishing effects to the wire are the two fastest ways, however there a number of other ways as MrHurley pointed out!

    Making Room for the Shelf

We are fortunate enough to have a great club that holds a swap meet. A great place to get rid of old stuff that you never use. You could also consider donations to your nearest magic club. They can use them as prizes or keep them as part of a general use library.

    Best Card Color Change ?

I'm a huge fan of the twirl change, shapeshifter, and snap change. They all look so open and visual. As an aside, here's a recent thread on this topic: http://www.theory11.com/forums/threads/what-are-your-favorite-color-changes.38301/#post-428201

A horse of a different color

I find the area of psychological forces interesting and perhaps moreso the idea of equivoque. A simple place to tinker that has recently come out is thetalia by Ian Rowland. It's really fun to do a trick that you have no clue what will happen, but to roll with it. The more you perform effects...

The Problem With a Five Star Review

Interesting thought Josh, I wonder if there is a better rating system that would better reflect attitudes. Like a rating out of 3 (like, neutral, dislike) and a reason why. That way it's not about sort of good vs really good, but more about the reasons why people like it.

How to choose a thumb tip?

I agree about the color, don't worry too much. I think every time I order one it's a different color, yet even just at my last gig I again had someone say "Hey I saw a guy do that trick, but he used a fake thumb."

Out of curiosity - 144 (Blue &) Gold Monarchs

I was wondering.... I have 3 decks of the pre-release version of the monarchs - the blue and gold backs. They are unopened, and tuck boxes are largely identical to the regular black & white version tuck boxes. If I was to sell some of them, are they worth more opened because you can know for...

Saturday Night Contest - Tribute to Rod

Finally had a chance to go through these. It's really great to see many of you doing sore really great work! I would find this difficult to judge. Deception can be from a series of intricate shuffles where it's amazing to think that someone is controlling the card, but also deception can be...

    Favorite trick?

My favorite effect with cards is Jokers wild. It's just a couple of color changes in a row, but with a nice presentation and it just makes people smile every single time. It's quick and fun. I've done it thousands of times. It's my go to opener.

    Need help finding a trick

Not sure what effect you are referring to, but this is one of the easiest false shuffles to learn, taught by and incredibly talented card worker. He's also a gret teacher: https://store.theory11.com/products/overhand-shuffle-jason-england
