1. No. Fanning powder helps make you have better fans. It makes them spread better but still have the deck stiff enough to do cuts. Like a broken in deck that can fan like new but is not slippery. It's not necessary since you can still make nice fans without powder but fanning power does help...

To be honest I think this art for wouldn't be as big without devo and jerry. Buck twins and jerry come second. But without chris kenner and the sybil tudor wouldn't exist and with out tudor the bucks wouldn't exist.
