Overasked question by beginners I guess

Thanks for the suggestions. Also...about the plastic cards, well...mainly because of their longitivity. Never actually sat down to think about it. Lol But the reason now I think about it, is probably just that, an average plastic deck lasts longer than an AVERAGE paper deck. And if I am woefully...

    Magician in Cardistry

Surely am not the first magician in cardistry who mainly wants to get some simple (even moderate) flourishes that are flashy and catch someone's eye. I know most of the cuts and a cut called the faux-cut by Chris Ramsay one or two more such SMALL flourishy looking things. I mainly need some...

Overasked question by beginners I guess

How do I clean plastic cards? It says that they are 100% washable on the packet. I have heard some use talcum powder to make them fan or spread better ( that's kinda the main reason I wanna clean my deck. Also I have heard talcum powder is really BAD for your cards) and even some people putting...

BETRAYED!!! AND sorry for the rant, but the prob needs to be explained...

And before anyone asks, yup, it's THE same event...too many problems for a single event, right? Lol, just my luck.:confused::confused: Am performing in India ('cuz I was asked that before) and as an Indian, I have a pretty good idea what is the general image of magic is here. For...

    Quick question...The dressing problem

Okay, now I don't think there are many people here who do the 'Suit-pant magician hat' magic ( if there are, sorry to offend you, lol) but here's the problem. I am going to perform very soon and here people are not in the magic culture, they rarely see good magic after one or two card tricks...

David Blaine Doublelift vs Pinky Count Doublelift

You are absolutely right. Pinky count is the cleaner, but it is not necessary that you need to perform the cleanest thing to fool some minds. I personally never did the riffling from the back thingy, was extremely nervous of being caught out. So I found this good alternative. Take off the...

    Street magic questions.

Please do not flirt with a girl with magic, that objectifies both, the girl and the magic you perform. Infact I feel one should not flirt with girls at all, ESPECIALLY the ones (aimed at anyone who thinks it makes them irresistable) who ask things like "How do you flirt with girls? " Nah...

    Favorite Magicians?

Dynamo's always the fave of mine. For me, he is THE best. Other than him, David Blaine, Penn and Teller, Michael Ammar, Mac King, Daiel Garcia, Brian brushwood, Derren Brown, Chris Ramsay... And, well I could go on and on, but the above are the ones who immediately came to my mind.

Classic problems that I can't just pass over (pun intended )

Thnx everyone, tho I feel that the thread turned out to be more complicated than I thought it would be :oops::p:p The basic thing is that I found a good video... That is what matters to me right now :D:D Would like to add that I know magic is not very expensive and the most important...

Classic problems that I can't just pass over (pun intended )

Thank you for putting it so plainly. Which country are you sir? Imagine paying 70$ for a bicycle standard deck. Then imagine paying 560$ for something that people from other countries can get in 3$ after that you can tell me how black my future prospects in magic is. Weird being told to...

That is what the problem is...a gr8 idea, but dunno abt the impact if the confirming part's after the reveal and only the volunteer can see it, no one else actually SEES it. :'(

Practicing in the Hands.... without spectators

You can use a table, as you said. And yes, there are some spectators who wanna spoil the suspense and just look at a card or something. A few ways to tackle this:- 1) Continue smoothly with your patter...sometimes we magicians do think too much and get all critical about "Will they examine...

Close-up magician...what to perform on stage?

How about if I go about something like this...first, simple revelation of a card. Then I continue with the same volunteer and have him/her choose a card and select two more volunteers. They select cards as well and first one's value and second one's suit give us the ID of the card the actual...
