    Helping Out.

Oh man...Craig beat me to it. Yes. Yes. and Yes...to what Craig said. It may seem crappy and like a lot of hard work to get it built up and going, but the benefits down the road will be well worth it. You are doing a great thing.

How to Make your own Close-up Card Mat + Benefits!

As Draven, said...that was mighty nice of you to post your instructions. Well done. I have a funny close up pad story to share. This was about 4 or 5 years ago and I purchased a nice brand new blue close up pad for about $30 or so. I had a formal gig in a clients home for a group of guests. It...

    Elementary School Magic show/Class

Depending on how good they are with math you could teach them Magic Square. Another cheap thing you could do is buy rubber bands and teach them broken and restored rubber band and rubber band through thumb. You could do the jumping rubber bands from fingers to fingers. I normally do this with...

How to make money! the magic way!

I have it Will but have yet to go buy the paper for it...ha ha. It is sitting on my dresser with about 5 other items I've yet to dig into. I've watched them all but just don't have time til I'm on Christmas break to really break them in.

How to make money! the magic way!

Looked good, however I would be more impressed if you had footage of you doing it for a live audience and then handing the bill out with the dirty hand. Then we can see what type of patter and audience management skills you have thus far.

    Rope Magic One liners

Check out some of Michael Finney's routines with rope. He has tons of jokes and gags in his rope routines. I also know there is a line about "Here...hold on to this end...give this rope a jerk...good...now there is a jerk at both ends..." Something along those lines. I've heard it but never...

Alright fellas, I think before it gets any worse than the direction it was heading I'm going to go ahead and close and lock the thread. I allowed everyone to speak their mind.

    Small pre-Christmas show

Enigma, If you want, I believe I live by your college. I would be willing to help you out some if you wanted to swing by my house. Do you have a car or way to get over to my place? Depending on the time I might even come watch your performance if you would want me to. I am a school teacher...

Advice for my first paid show/party

There is a difference between doing tricks at a party and putting on a full blown birthday party show. How many people are going to be there? What is the age range? Have you done any shows before or mainly just performed some tricks at school? What are your friend's expectations? Is he...

    Black Friday at Theory11

Oh so true Draven. It is amazing how people go from sitting around the dinner table counting their blessings, remembering loved ones, giving thanks, and then...then they turn to ravage beasts who push in shove people in line, call people names, trample and even get in fist fights over sale...

Birthday Party Gig Advice - I should have known

So everyone already read about my strolling gig last Friday night and the traffic jam, but I also performed at a birthday party Saturday afternoon. I've always had great experiences with birthday parties and receive great reviews. This one I wanted to share what happened so it doesn't happen...

    Does anyone know where...

But my guess is ( I could be way off base), to the common public you probably look like a teenage kid messing around with cards. You are probably not in venues where there are potential clients. Age is also a factor. Most adults are not going to give a young kid the time of day let alone go...

Why should we bother learning the history of magic

Some of you will find that if you try to go get a "mentor," especially someone who is in their 50's and up, they will most likely want you to take notes during your lesson and learn the history of the move / effect. That happened to me twice and I did not fight them on it.

Two shows in the past two weeks.

The entire sequence of picking spectators with the beach ball seems really forced and uncomfortable for you and the spectators involved. It's painful to watch. I understand what you are trying to accomplish but I think you should explain that you are going to hit the beach balls into the crowd...

    Does anyone know where...

People need to see you perform "live" out in about. Prime example: If I am at any type of function...no matter what it is....(church, graduation party...meeting...dinner...bar...) I ALWAYS have 3 effects and business cards on me ready to go. I know the set and patter like the back of my hand...
