I'm glad you realized what you did wrong, and are learning from your mistakes. The way I look at it, is that I would rather turn down a show now, and have a few people disappointed, then absolutely blow them away a few months or even a year later with an awesome show, than take the show, and...

1on1s usually take about ten minutes for me, and DVDs usually take at least half an hour. :( Oh well... I'm patient. :D

Fan Control- The spectator takes out the card while holding the deck, eliminating the possibility of a force, you fan out the cards, they put it back anywhere they want, then get to shuffle. Fan Control definitely looks more fair.

I actually learned this about two years ago from Gregory Wilson's "Pyrotechnic Pasteboards". I may have to buy this to see if I can pick up any tips from it- but it sounds like they aren't very many tips I probably don't already know.
