Are all dover magic books useful for beginners?

If they are people you know well enough to speak to, and you can manage it, talk to them before the wedding. Politely ask them not to jack with you while you are performing. For general hecklers, just don't let them get to you and keep on keeping on. Since it is your brother's wedding I would...

Are all dover magic books useful for beginners?

This has less to do with the difficulty of the material, I think, and more to do with the fact that it is not a particularly well written book. It may be the "Card Worker's Bible" but it is more Leviticus than it is Gospel of John.

So, is theory11 ready to start dealing with sales tax?

Gonna be a PITA for you guys. Guess you could always offshore the digital biz and sell all the physical products through Amazon and let them take their cut in exchange for letting them deal with the headache.

Are all dover magic books useful for beginners?

Good for you, @Unownmagician1990 . If this is going to be your first time performing for moderate to large groups I would suggest avoiding anything too angle sensitive or excessively move-e. I would go with "mechanically" simple tricks that you build good presentations around. Tricks don't need...

Are all dover magic books useful for beginners?

Quick follow up, just wanted to point out that the new hardback version of Royal Road (Card Tricks: The Royal Road to Card Magic) is almost 4 bucks cheaper than the paperback for some bizarre reason.

Are all dover magic books useful for beginners?

Most of the books are beginner friendly but several are more appropriate for the intermediate magician. @010rusty mentioned ECT, I would add Card Control and probably Card Manipulations to that list. If one wants to stick to the Dover Library--from a card man's perspective--then I would go with...

Those leather C&B cups would be a great look for RenFair performance.

Would a Café where all the waiters are magicians work?

THIS. Seriously it is something that a lot of theme-intensive restaurants forget and they end up going out of business.

    What exactly is “Organic Magic”?

Strange, I've never felt the need to "justify" my props.

How Many Magicians Does it take to screw in a light bulb.

0 if they bought the All-New, Self-Working, Organic, Show-stopping, Jebrizi approved Presto-Chango bulb. A low, low price of $1,999.99 from your favorite magic retailer.

Tamariz, so stoked for MagiFest when I can cross this off my list.

    Heckler Killers

O'Brien here is a great example of what I'm on about. Look at 'em. He's "What if Samwise Gamgee were a magician" only taller. Who would heckle anyone who bears such a strong resemblance to Sean Astin, in looks and laid back demeanor? Also, great quote from Strong Magic: "Challenge"--referring...

    What exactly is “Organic Magic”?

It's a BS marketing term. Don't buy into the BS, there is nothing wrong with the traditional props of magic. I pretty sure that Mr. Messado would bet all of his tip money on that. The commercials might as well say, "Hey, are you completely incapable of putting a routine together? Never fear...

    Sleight of Hand VS Gimmicks

There are some really, really strong card effects that can only be accomplished with gimmicks. I do what basically amounts to T. Wonder's Wild Card handling. If it didn't have enough gimmicks to it, I put the packet in a Himber style packet switcher at the end, that way I am clean if anyone asks...

    Sleight of Hand VS Gimmicks

Another good ambitious card example would be Daryl's roped deck finisher. Back in the day I got to see Daryl do this several times for lay people and it always killed and I never once heard anyone talk about suspecting anything hinky with the deck--because it this point they had seen the deck...

    Heckler Killers

^Listen to the councilor, he is wise beyond his years. If you follow his advice your hecklers will be rare, unless you perform where the drunk quotient tends to by high and there is no point in debating, chastising or arguing with a drunk. Any hecklers that remain, ignore them. Smile to yourself...
