Well, I only do mind reading tricks to impress family and friends so keep it all very basic and simple. Less is more in this case.

Peter Turner has a cool drawing duplication which doesn't require peeks/gimmicks/props etc. It's pure psychology. It might not work all the time but still.
Banachek, Peter Turner and Jon Thompson wrote books about propless mentalism which are worth reading.
You really should give Corinda another try because it's the bible when it comes to mentalism. In some cases you only need a billet and a pen.
