I would ask them what they want to get out of being in this club, if they actually want to pursue magic or if they just want to know how the tricks are done. I would also put together some sort of demonstration like a small routine with some pretty simple tricks.

I really like the idea of this, unfortunately there already are some tutorials for the French Kiss effect. I actually learned the effect from one on accident since it was posted under a different name and I hadnt seen the effect before.

I dont think its so much mocking magic but more mocking the major magicians. though not in a mean way, sort of satire of magic i guess. I would agree that Now You See Me looks way better but its a completely different type of movie so its not really fair to compare them.

Kardistry.com has some flourish tutorials that are free, but if youre totally new to flourishing I would highly recommend you buy genesis v1 because its absolutely amazing

For me personally I go through the tricks I plan on performing and see if I do things inconsistently at any point. for example in my ambitious card I used to do a double life one way and a single a different way, no one pointed it out but its something that I thought should be consistent.

You might want to try practicing with the cards in the box, it definitely helped me.
