Thanks so much. This was exactly the type of thing I was looking for. Best wishes, Cameron

    Bobo. Help please!

I went to a magic shop and bought the Bobo book, which as I understand is the Erdnase of coin work. I am finding that there is so much in there however, that I am sleightly overwhelmed (pun intended). If I want to get good information/ tricks from Bobo, where should I start? All the best...

    A few questions

My bad. I thought you meant to control a card from the middle. I tend to use shuffles etc to move cards while talking but I guess the Hermann Pass could do.

    a cardistry performance live

Your actual performance of the moves is top-notch. However, maybe try to create a flowing routine which gets increasingly complex and impressive and put it to music. If you don't want to do it to music you could do something similar to this video by Andrei Jikh...

Card tricks that don't involve picking a card

    A few questions

Double undercut alternative: classic pass or other shifts Secret switch: top change? The double lift is an interesting question. If you do a double lift technique that replaces the card(s) face down, such as the Stuart Gordon double, which Jason England teaches on a very good download on this...

    Single Card Straddle Pass.

I am considering this as a potential option for a control. I was wondering how it is in terms of angle issues. I am sure that it is taught very well as I have seen other Jason England downloads. I would be interested to gather your opinions. Cheers, Cameron

where to practice and do your tricks?

A gambler's mirror is a good tool. It is several mirrors hinged together which gives you multiple angle on a move at the same time

    Miller Cascade Control

I love victoria as a concept but it is too flashy for my handling style. It looks great in Zach's hands though.

    Miller Cascade Control

I have been working on this move for a fortnight or so now and have the basic mechanics down. My issue is that the cascade itself is as smooth as the lovechild of a bed of nails and a roll of sandpaper. I can do a smooth waterfall on its own or with a step in the cards but when I try to...

    Need some controls.

Dear magic fraternity, I have been doing magic for just over a year and a half now and, rather shockingly, I do not have many good controls in my arsenal, I mainly use centre doubles and the double undercut, and would like to know your thoughts. I have some very specific parameters, which I...

Magic series on youtube. Please give me feedback

go out and film some street magic. It will be terrifying at first but before long it will be easy. Approach someone and politely explain that you are filming some magic and ask if they would like to see something. It gets easier the more you do, plus you could only show the good takes.

    Classic Pass and DPS

Thanks to all who replied. I have now taken down the videos as I feel that they are accidentally exposing the moves and there is little there that, for now, I cannot sort out with practice and private study. I may post similar ones in the future. Thanks again, Cameron

    Classic Pass and DPS

I have since watched the videos and agree that the performance is pretty sub-par. I will take the videos down as suggested once I have got some more advice from other magicians as to the problems.

    Double turnover/double lift

double lift is easier to say and people are lazy

    Ego change/ cardini change

You can riffle off the top card with the left thumb (assuming you are right handed) and get a very small break. This will help and is how I do the change.

    Classic Pass and DPS

Hi all, I have been working on these sleights for a while now and now feel that I have reached the tweaking stage where small pieces of advice and small adjustments to handling will make all the difference. If you have any tips please tell me. Classic pass...

    Multiple Shift tutorials

There are Jason England 1-on-1s which teach the DPS and the Single Card Straddle Pass, both of which can control multiple, isolated cards to the bottom. There is also one in 'Stars of Magic' (Dai Vernon's "Travelers") and Erdnase (under culling but adaptable to a multiple shift)

    Bottom Deal and Multiple Shift

With a push-off deal like yours, try to deal as if in a poker game, not consecutively. This will give you time to get your act together between deals. In addition, you can practice the push-off action by itself until it is second nature, then incorporate it into the rest of the deal. The...
