My bad. I thought you meant to control a card from the middle. I tend to use shuffles etc to move cards while talking but I guess the Hermann Pass could do.

A gambler's mirror is a good tool. It is several mirrors hinged together which gives you multiple angle on a move at the same time

go out and film some street magic. It will be terrifying at first but before long it will be easy. Approach someone and politely explain that you are filming some magic and ask if they would like to see something. It gets easier the more you do, plus you could only show the good takes.

Thanks to all who replied. I have now taken down the videos as I feel that they are accidentally exposing the moves and there is little there that, for now, I cannot sort out with practice and private study. I may post similar ones in the future. Thanks again, Cameron

I have since watched the videos and agree that the performance is pretty sub-par. I will take the videos down as suggested once I have got some more advice from other magicians as to the problems.

double lift is easier to say and people are lazy

You can riffle off the top card with the left thumb (assuming you are right handed) and get a very small break. This will help and is how I do the change.

There are Jason England 1-on-1s which teach the DPS and the Single Card Straddle Pass, both of which can control multiple, isolated cards to the bottom. There is also one in 'Stars of Magic' (Dai Vernon's "Travelers") and Erdnase (under culling but adaptable to a multiple shift)
