    Blue Rubber Bands

I use the #19s that I got from Office Max (note: I have not found these in any other store). They are the Alliance Antimicrobial Rubber bands; you can tell that they have the substance because they're blue. The reason? To keep the bands from degrading over time due to microbial stuff

Best deck to perform with ?

I've heard that question before, and asked that question before. 500 or so decks later, I'm no closer to answering that question than I was when I started magic 3 years ago. "Oooh this has a cool back design but a crappy fan" "Ooh this feels like silk but the smell is not my thing" "Oooh I like...

    Dresscode question

The DVD tells you what you would need to get. In fact, having watched the video, I have already come up with ways to achieve the same connections with different materials, but it is ultimately the same type of gimmick. Also... doesn't the DVD have at least SOME of the materials already provided?

Designing a New Deck of Cards

You make some pretty excellent points there, Ezekhial. However, I disagree with subtle edits to the back design. The style, elegant and conservative, could use a substantially better back, so that it wouldn't look too out of place in James Bond's hands at Casino Royale. Considering what he has...

Designing a New Deck of Cards

Using four colors and the standard bicycle back design would prove quite detracting, so I recommend against those. What you have in style reminds me of the Art Deco era; perhaps you could tailor the deck back design to fit such a theme. I like the idea of no numbers, something people don't...

PURE by E. Dobrokhotova... what is going on?

I suppose I was quite flippant in my previous replies; I apologize if my tone offended anyone. As I had said before, though, this explains quite a lot and I feel so lucky that one of these copies is in my hands. Considering where I found it, though (the local Goodwill), it must have come from...

I'll look into it. :) Alright, now the real important question. What about your viewpoint on my statement as to the purpose of the art? Do you agree/disagree? Also, did you find my account entertaining? :D

    End of Magifest: UPDATE

So your primary point of view pertains to how much money is being spent on the experience, I get that. It's easy to understand how an otherwise enjoyable experience is ruined by how much you had to pay for it, especially considering the more experienced magicians out here. However, I speak from...

    End of Magifest: UPDATE

To each our own. (the $400 was totally worth it btw, and I... er... lied about my age to get a youth single-day pass). I agree that the prices were exorbitant (enough to justify making a year-long savings plan just for it), and that registration price would definitely be a turn off. However...

I went 1 year ago and blew the same amount ($400) on dealer room items. My parents were royally pissed at that.

You answered JUST like I thought other people would :-I In any case, it does explain a few things about the situation as a whole. But my real question is, do you also see the core message of my posting? Do you agree or disagree with my viewpoint and would you be able to clarify your...

But if you ask me, I believe that this aspect of community is more important than any that came before it, more important than mentalism, more important than sawing a girl in half or escaping from a straightjacket, heck, more important than all these combined. Where would we be without it...
