    Compressed Pen by Jay Sankey?

This is an extremely late reply BUT you can find in the Magical Arts Journal and also, the Definitive Sankey is coming out in June and it may be in there. Hope this helps.

Totally out of control out of print?

I see that totally out of control is out of print again, and cannot be found anywhere. Is there any word on why and what will happen to the book in the future?

Experience the Magic of Jon Allen-Book

A little bit about me so you understand why I give a trick/book a certain review. I have done magic for about 6 years and perform regularly at a restaurant so I can be called a semi-pro but that's all semantics. So I am going to give you the table of contents of the book so that you can read...

David Williamson's- Williamsons Wonders Book Review

Ok, so I normally do not review any magic tricks or books but I decided to do some because I find it irritating when I can't a review for something I'm looking at buying. A little bit about me so you understand why I give a trick/book a certain review. I have done magic for about 6 years and...

    13 Steps to Mentalism

To be honest, I felt the same way about mentalism- I like the visualness that magic has to offer.... A book you can get to get your feet wet in mentalism without getting too involved is a book called self working mentalism- do not let the title fool you. What I prefer to do when performing...

    Types of Tricks

Hello, I've been trying to organize my magic into certain categories. I'm not talking about penetrations, vanishes, etc. I'm talking about certain types of card effects such as Triumph effects, color changing cards, card to impossible place, two/three card monte etc. I'm trying to find a source...

    Table Hopping Question

Definitely not minimum wage.... a cool little tip I have used to get a feel for how much they are willing to pay me is to allow them to ask me... so how much do you charge... then I ask.. how much are you willing to pay.... this of course depends on your personality to not come across as snob...

Best Coins Across (In Your Opinion)

Well there is Mr. Clean Coins Across from Sankey which is on his Revolutionary Coin Magic DVD and uses three ordinary quarters. Also Slow Motion Coins Across on his Front Row Sankey DVD which uses three quarters that you put in your hand and they then end up in your pocket! I like the Deep...

    Recommendations

I would recommend getting a book such as Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic or Joshua Jay's Magic the Complete Course.... both of these books have magic of all types so you can delve deeper into other types of magic. Also, performing for the same people isn't the best idea because you...

Question about Fire in The Hol

By handmakeable to you mean, you do it yourself? Then yes.... you don't need to buy anything 'extra' just some tools such as for example a scissor- that's the type of tool I'm talking about. You just need a deck of cards and a tool and you are ready to go... and the gimmick YOU make can be used...

    To Identify Level

Me personally, I wouldn't be too worried about that... unless you perform for magicians no one cares about your skill level, all the audience cares about is if you can perform for them. Once you start thinking about beginner, intermediate and advanced you start forming a hierarchy which is...

    Psychological Subtleties 2 or 3

    Psychological Subtleties 2 or 3

Which one do you prefer- I've read the first one and I want to see what magicians have done with the information but I can't seem to find any descriptions of some of the effects in the second one. The third one seems very intriguing but I want to see if the second one is worth it. DO you guys...

Thursday Night Roundtable - The Top Change

I personally like the David Williamson technique which is taught in his book Williamson's Wonders or On Demand on dan and daves website. Also, I use Jay Sankey's technique with tilting the deck at eye level with the spectators eyes which will make the move as invisible as it can be.

    Mind Reading Beginners

I would highly suggest getting Tagged by Richard Ferguson... yes it's a DVD but it isn't a "one trick pony." Tagged is a REALLY good DVD and I highly suggest it to anyone that wants to get into mind reading... it's totally worth it.

    Talent Show

If you can, if you are experienced in more close up magic, try to get one of your friends tape you on stage and have a projector so that the rest of the audience can see what's going on. If this can't be done than I don't know what to say, having done stage magic myself... it is too much work to...

What are the best coins to use?

Half dollars are good to use for palming and for the visuals since they are bigger but like said before practice some tricks that can be done with quarters so that you can do some impromptu magic!

    ITR/Tarantula/MLS and all over levitation

I don't have it but I do know that it is based on fearson's hookup so it is not a mechanical device.
