Practice, either recording yourself or watching yourself in the mirror. Make sure that your deck is good enough. If your fans aren't smooth it's likely because of your deck.

What i found when i first started doing this change, is that my grip was too tight, and that was causing it to slow down and not be as fluid as it should be. Basically make your grip as light as you can whilst not dropping the cards.
