With the release of Theory11’s newest deck PROVISION
I want to talk about this cause it bothered me for a long time.
Before I say anything I want to be clear that I absolutely love the design of the new deck also the box is freaking dope.
But there is a small detail, as a magician, graphic designer and also a passionate about playing cards, TEXTS on back designs really annoys me. I think it can take a great design and just ruin it.
Awesome decks like Jimmy Fallon, National, High Victorian and Provision I’m in love with all of these brilliant designs but just imagine them without the text on the back and a little more space for the color to shine.
For example if the provision design was only the inner border and with what’s inside it without the “header”
Or the Fallon deck without the name and “the tonight show” on the sides.
I think the decks will look more satisfying and I don’t need every single card to tell me what deck is it the box is doing this job just fine LOL anyway just an opinion from a fellow designer.
