Hello there, card magic forum. I have an interesting and important question to ask you!

I'm beginning to take card magic more seriously, attempting to practice a sophisticated approach to the art. As such, I have decided to take David Devant's approach and learn a few tricks well instead of many poorly.

So this brings up the question: How many tricks are in your guys's repertoires? Which ones? Why? I know that's a lot to think about, but I think the resulting discussion will be interesting. Thanks everyone!

Depends on what you want to achieve. if you are doing things just for friends and family, then it's OK to do quick tricks here and there, that are different than each other. After all they are your friends and family and it would be silly to think that they are going to fully listen to your presentations 100%.

But I would say it's wise to have have maybe 3 things and probably work on them for around 3-4 months before showing them off.
