Hey in the Media section there is a video of some one from japan doing a CD manipulation thing. I was wondering if any knows were I could buy something something to learn how to do it.

yea i got a video teaching that. its probably the only one too. Its called "show off with Cd's" I didn't really like it much tho.
to be honest i just downloaded it online. I found it outta no where and im like hey this looks cool.

I studied CD manipulations for 1-2 months a while back and Ill see what i remember.
I have seen a couple of DVDs on the subject
- Show Off with CDs by Eddy Ray
- Laser Anywhere
Show Off with CDs:
This is a Magic Makers DVD so you make your own judgement on that.
But basically this DVD aint bad. It teaches you everything you need to know on how to vanish and produce CDs, DVDs, and Mini Discs. You will learn different vanishes, productions, color changes, transpositions, transformations, etc. Eddy doesn't explain everything in extreme detail but you will understand it well. This is around 1.25 Hours long i think
Laser Anywhere:
This is actually a 2 DVD set produced in Hong Kong, which is where I'm from so thats pretty cool. But Live Magic is a rip-off sort of company. They dont over charge anything, but everything you learn in here, you will learn in Show Off. You might a few different routines and other things, but the basic sleights are mostly the same. The first DVD focuses on normal CDs and has a Jumbo Disc Routine. The 2nd DVD focuses on Mini Discs. Its actually not bad. But it is taught in Cantonese, but the visuals are enough to learn by. There are also subtitles in English, which works. But DVDs are 1.5 hours long. The teaching is more thorough but the info is basically the same.
Now CD manipulation is pretty cool. Hardly anyone does it. But the angles are sort of an issue. Its hard to handle and pretty risky. Most people won't see it comin though as its unique. Its not all that hard. if you work with cards, then this should be pretty easy to pick up. The sleights are similiar but its just some nuances and extra techniques you need to learn.
Those are about the 2 main sources you can learn from. Props and such can only be bought from Live Magic. You can use your own CDs but they produce manipulation CDs. They are the regular size in diameter but thinner in thickness. There are CDs (in box of 30 of 15), Jumbos (in a box of 6, which Adrian Man teaches you to produce one by one), Mini Discs (box of 6, color or plain), and Cool Shaped Mini Discs (stars, heart, circle).
Thats about all you can know about CD Manipulation I think.

There are other CD tricks. Such as
- Laser Flight
- Diminishing Disc
- Zig Zag Disc
- Vanishing CD
- Wandering CD
