Hey William,

Raising funds for a charitable cause is never a bad thing in a perfect world. However, there are individuals and corporations that take advantage of the kind gestures of others. People are now cautious about donating their hard earned money because of this fact. The best thing that you can do as individual is advertise your campaign by any means possible (social media works well). What you can do is go out and perform magic as part of your campaign. Think of it as busking for donation. It would be a great way to raise awareness in regards to charity water. At the same time you are doing what you love for a great cause.

You will have to also let people know that x percentage of the donations will be going toward the charity. You want people to trust you. That is why they are more willing to donate to reputable companies than unknown individuals. I'm not trying to discourage you but that is the truth of the matter.

Once you raise funds practice integrity and everything will work out. Even a small amount will make a difference!

Good luck with your project!

~Ryan~
