Hello Guys!!
.
I am creating a promo kit to get more gigs and get out there more effectively...the kit is composed by 3 things: a flyer with some info, my business card and a cd with videos and photos of gigs...all inside a nice looking tranparent envelope made of a rigid plastic that is not transparent or solid...it´s hard to explain, the inside looks blur..

anyway!!! here is the flyer!! tell me what you think...should you have any doubts concerning the spanish feel free to ask me!! I´ll check this thread later...

and don´t forget to check my latest journal and leave your comments!!!

Nice Promo Luis!, I really like the design of everything even though I can't read it, so maybe you could make a english version as well as the spanish version - Jaryn

Luis, this is exactly what I am getting ready to start putting together. You are already one step a head of me. Looks very professional. Check your PM's bro.

I really like the pictures and background. The pictures aren't one of those tacky ''guy holding an ace in his t shirt and in the bathroom'' pics, it's actually a really good picture!

I don't know if you should have so much writing on your flyer. If you could translate to english it I bet a lot of more people could help you on the forums!

Hello!!

thanks so far!! @tokyoUW: You think so? I think you could be right!!

I am going to translate the text...

big letters: Who Am I?
text: Illusionist, Mentalist, sleight of hand artist, con-man, miracle maker...it´s some of the name I´ve been given thru the time and I hope you soon give me yours...

inside my profile I am friendly, funny, carismatic, professional, mystifing and willing to make your event memorable and making that you guests have a great time!!

Big letters: What I do?
text: I entertain your guests and invite them to have a great time with an exquisite selection of magic using everyday objects like cards, coin, bills, ballons, matches, gum, clocks, rubberband and some others making your event an unforgetable experience.. the question now is...what can I do for you?

Big letters: For who?
Text: just a list of clients and the kind of events I do...weeding, private events, cocktails, etc...

big letter: what kind of things
text: the type of shows: close-up, stand up, strolling, table hooping

big letters: anything else?
text: Originary from Leon Guanajuato, speak english fluently at 100%, featured in magazines, newspaper and TV, sponsored by Parche, more than 100 shows to date!!

finally contact info...I believe that doesn´t need translation...

hope this helps to you...so you can give me more criticism...

What I saw when I first looked at the promo flyer:

Since it is in Spanish, there were no key words that jumped off the page for me to instinctively see, so I can't give you much feedback there. But if it were in English, and I was given a promo pack by an entertainer, I would want to easily see words jump off he page like, "PROFESSIONAL, VIP, TV SPECIAL, BRILLIANT, etc..." you get the idea. Now, your different sections don't have to start with key words like these, but you should highlight those words/ underline/ or capitalize those words (perhaps a larger font and different font color too). Why? you may ask, it will give the readers' eyes keypoints to trace through the flyer. Some readers might find this to be too much literature to read, but if they had easily recognizable key words that they could spot, understand, and then move onto the next one, it would really help the flow.

Then, ultimately in the end, your goals is for them to contact you, so your contact info should be almost like a giant reward at the bottom. Like, THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE TO DO NOW! type feel to it. Perhaps put a silver outline ('stroke' effect in photoshop, or bevel, or gradiant overlay, etc...) on the font of your contact info, make the font bigger, anything that will let the reader know, "You NEED to have my contact info!".

Anyway, these are my thoughts. I have translated a TON of Japanese advertisements into English for work, and have been exposed to these types of things quite a bit.

Eric

p.s. Words that I see that I think you can emphasize / capitalize/ make stand out, etc... "Bilingual," "100 shows," "Mystifying," "magazines, TV" etc...
