I have the DVD. It seemed pretty clear-cut and direct as far as instructions go. Chad Nelson broke down the sleight as much as he could. It was actually pretty easy for me to pick up the fundamentals just by watching the video once over. I by no means have the sleight down as perfectly or as smoothly as he does, but I'm unsure how you could be having problems with it after watching the DVD.
It does require a few days worth of practice and it will feel terribly awkward the first few times you attempt it. I recommend just watching the DVD repeatedly until you find something you missed. The ClipShift requires a lot of flexibility and muscles that most people's hands aren't used to using. In any case-- if you want, get at me and we can talk magic for a while and discuss the issues you're having with the sleight. Hopefully we can work something out.
RS.
PS: I just noticed Cringe Magic 22's replies above. I never knew of the discussion forum for the sleight. If you have the DVD, I recommend getting access to the forum. I'm sure there's a wealth of knowledge from the creator and others who regularly use the move talking there.
