is there any other way to clean it up?
Surely have both cards face down on top then double lift them to start, do the first change and then the cardini so the card should end up face down on the bottom alike to the rest of the deck? If you want to continue using the deck then you could just palm or lap it. This is what I would do in the situation. Am I missing something about this trick?

(Also try adjusting your grip more seamlessly, just have the deck in one hand and go from grip to grip, seeing what might hide it?)

Thanks a lot!

This is what I do, but as of now, in my opinion it looks a bit strange. Because there's a lot of finger action going on behind the deck.

Also, how many people do the cardini in real life?

Perhaps more so ones that are based on the Cardini as opposed to the Cardini itself. Check out Tony Chang's Color Change

https://www.vanishingincmagic.com/card-magic-downloads/the-color-change-tony-chang/ for example.

Tivo 2.0 is also an interesting variation. https://store.theory11.com/products/tivo-2-dan-and-dave

Even Venus Trap. https://www.vanishingincmagic.com/card-magic-downloads/venus-trap/

For me the reason to learn the Cardini is these.

Unrelated to the Cardini, you should take a look at the Betram.

I do not have this version, but it is here on T11 and the description calls it a "A simplified variation on the classic Bertram Change". I have it in the book Bertram On Sleight Of Hand.
