Hey guys! I received Curtain Call by Barrie Richardson about a couple of months ago, and I just wrote a pretty detailed review for it over on the Trick Shop Magic blog. I talk about and describe a dozen (just a sample) of my favorite effects, as well as the overall quality of the book.
When you read the review you'll notice that I hardly say anything negative about Curtain Call; this is simply because I really couldn't find anything bad enough to complain about! I think my only exception to this would be Barrie's inclusion of several personal stories which sometimes seem like filler; however, knowing Barrie's performing style (he'd rather read a poem than do magic), I think he put those stories in Curtain Call for the purpose of inspiring the reader, and they most likely hold a very special place in his heart. I thought some of them were fairly repetitive, but the rest of the book was not lacking in any value, so I was not bothered by these stories significantly.
